I'll make my year end predictions in january, as usual.
Some pretty good ones in here though (and some really weird ones...), we'll see how things pan out in 2011.
Wii- 102 m
Ps3 - 59 m
X360 -66 m
Wii is a beast
Ps3 - will sell around the same.
X360 - Kinect will get word of mouth and new games.
Depends on who lands the price cut first between the PS360, I'd say that the gap will stay relatively the same but MAYBE swing by a factor of 500K either way. As much as you want them exclusives to push major HW, it's not going to happen, that only happens in Japan it seems. Wii will trump the holidays again and will probably officially slash prices, I would assume that all 3 will get a price cut next year, although 360 line up could be better.. Fingers crossed they didn't put announce all of their line up like Sony usually does, and we'll get uber cheeky surprise. *Looks at Halo:CE*

I prefer to wait instead of making of making predictions I know I'll loose. Except that I expect Wii to be at 101 millions with 16.5 millions sold that year {Wii Vitality Sensor, major Wii motion plus releases (including core games!), New Super Mario Bros. Wii 2 and maybe a price cut}.

Above: still the best game of the year.
360 and ps3 will both sell around 14-16mil. With ps3 outselling it initially and 360 catching up to it over the holidays.
Wii will sell around 15-20mil depending on whether it gets a pricecut.
I think its more likely for the 360 to get a pricecut next year then the ps3. Currently the harddrive model costs as much as the standard ps3 and is cheaper to make. Over the holidays microsoft could easily drop the price of both kinect and the xbox and make a bundle $100 cheaper. Kinect might get dropped in price sooner if sales die down quickly after the holidays.
Unless the ps3 starts really tanking I don't think sony will give it a pricecut, hence why their exclusives lineup is strong all year. No single game that will push a lot of consoles, but having them all in one console will have this effect.
Wii shipments should e at 98M - 100M end of 2011 and DS 158M.

^Sales at the end of 2011. I didn't feel like predicting sales at this time. sorry PS3:
X60:
Wii
Here's a breakdown on how I see things planning out.
I also like to note that Killzone 3 will push consoles.... Yeah I said it. Not trying to flame here but, I think it will be interesting to see how hardcore gamers react to Kinect and PS3's exclusives. As for 3DS and PSP: 3DS = 10(PSP) |
So you think end of 2010 will be 48M for PS3, 51M for 360 and 84M for Wii? looking likely.

Wii > PS3 > 360.
I can see a price cut for all three systems next year. I can see MS cutting price around April. And Ninty and Sony will cut price in the September - October period.
Who's the best Pac, Nas, and Big. Just leave it to that.

Makes no sense to cut the price that early, especially before the summer drought, cutting in the latter periods of the year september seems like a plausible solution, I am not 100% sure on PS3 being able to afford a price cut, Wii has alot of wiggle room, and 360 price cut is highly possible too, but probably in October/November area.
