Now do one of Nintendo franchises. Don't forget, the Virtual Console counts. I'm tempted, but I really should start my homework... |
okay
Super Mario Bros, 2,3- NES, SNes in all star, Wii VC, All Star on Wii, GBA
Zelda 1 2- NES, Zelda Collectors edition (Free), Wii VC, GBA
Lttp- SNES, GBA, VC
Black Label NES games- NES, maybe and the VC and Ecards or Free with Animal Crossing GC
Punch-out- nes, VC, free on animal crossing
F-zero, Snes, VC
Star Fox- Snes, VC
Star fox 64- 64/VC
Metroid- NES-gba-vc, free on other games
and basically most of the time it goes on like this
Original Release, Being available on the VC then maybe on a handheld, then sometimes offered up as a freebie or rarely on a contemporary 2 to 3 game compliation in the place of what would have normally been a single game, the super mario bros series is the main exception. considering the time span of up to 25 years for some of these that isn't excessive at all
the reason to repackage games is to make them available again to a new audience or allow an old fan to reobtain a favorite- and it isn't exclusive to video games- you can still buy new copies of Alice in Wonderland- do you fault publishers for keeping classic books in print? if you do your a jerk
Personally I'd say namco is the king of reissues, how many collections have they released with just Rally-x, Pacman, Galaga, Dig Dug and Xevious?
I HAVE A DOUBLE DRAGON CAB IN MY KITCHEN!!!!!!
NOW A PUNISHER CAB!!!!!!!!!!!!!
