Forums - Sales - Kinect games sales .... not so hot.

You expected million sellers for a system that sold 2.5 million units for the month? that would almost be a 50% attach rate.

One comparison that looks interesting is Kinect sports compared to Sports Champions.  I don't believe Kinect sports is ever bundled and it is almost tied in sales with Sports Champtions which is bundled 40% of the time or so (I don't have a source for the the % bundled on Sports Champions, could be off).

You know what that is?

Well that is the MetaCritic score for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 1. It is lucky to sell one unit because of Kinect.

As for other titles.  The majority of Kinect devices are probably just wrapped under a Christmas tree.  This is how it works.  Someone finds a Kinect or 360 with Kinect and then they let other family members know and then those family members put that on thier shopping list to get someone for Christmas.  I expect December Kinect software sales to improve higher than normal and then January sales will be even better.

Its libraries that sell systems not a single game.

I get the distinct feeling that a lot of early Move/Kinect owners are sticking to one, maybe two, titles and some demos and waiting for the presumed better titles to come.  Almost everyone you speak to with either peripheral invariably talks about how the next batch of titles will really show what the devices can do.

So long as Kinect/360 bundles sell like they have in US MS will be happy enough at this point I think.

I mean, let's be serious, Move only has one good title, SC, and one good PSN title, Tumble, at the moment (I'm ignoring Heavy Rain, etc and yes they're good) while Kinect, ignorning the pack in title (which ain't bad) only has two good titles as well, Kinect Sports and Dance Central, and one okay title, Kinectimals (or whatever the hellish spelling of that title is).

I'd actually hate to see titles for either selling (outside the aforementioned good ones) like hotcakes at the moment as it would erode my faith in people not to buy average to below average products.

So personally, I'm not really surprised with the sales at the moment.

Exactly

As far as Kinect games go the good to decent ones are also the ones selling the most, which are Kinect Sports, Dance Central, Your Shape and Kinectimals.

There simply aren't enogh decent games out yet.

Exactly when are the next "decent" Kinect games coming out?

What I think you are forgetting is that it came out 1 month and 6 days ago.The sales for most of the games are pretty decent. You also have to remember that the cream of the crop rises to the top.

Kinect Adventures! - 3,176,854 in 5 weeks. (Not complete figures)
Kinect Sports -                928,429 in 5 weeks. (Also Not complete figures)
Dance Central -              552,353 in 5 weeks. (I think you get the point)

So I disagree with this assumption that the games aren't selling. I just feel like people aren't buying the crap most of this studios are pooping out. In some cases though some of the games are bombing pretty hard:

Kinect Joy Ride -     139,857  (This was meant to be free)
Adrenalin Misfits -    14,932 (wow...)

2011....

When exactly I don't know, but TGS already showed some cool looking games. Some Western developers will release some Kinect games as well next year (which aren't announced yet).

Forza Kinect (or is it Forza 4 ?)
Child of Eden
Dr. Kawashima's Body and Brain Connection
Project Draco (Could be 2012)
Dance Central 2

Harry Potter did miserably?

Yeah, I know, EA. Oh wait, it SOLD badly too?

Sucks for you.

GOTY Contestants this year: Dead Space 2, Dark Souls, Tales of Graces f. Everything else can suck it.
