GT4 launch in May 9,so i still dont think thats HUGE,but still good

HUGE is HUGE... nothing just good.

For comparison Reach sold 430k fw in UK by VGC.

Now how many "over 265k" means???

ah,CVG said GT4 is "over 250k",so you think it's 500k or more?come on

also,FIFA 10(PS3)first week is 281k

Ohhhhh... thanks.

GT5 is the 6th best seeling PS3 fw in UK so.

1. Black Ops
2. Moderm Warfare 2
3. GTA IV
4. FIFA 11
5. FIFA 10? 281k
6. GT 5 (between 265k and 281k)

These 281k for FIFA 10 is Char-Track???

And FIFA is HUGE in UK.

Cool... my maths was right.

Just for comparison GT1, GT2 and GT3 sold combined 285k in UK fist week.

Where does it say 265k in the article?

Or is this based on 6% increase of what VGC has GT4 at?

Chart-Track GT4 launch.

http://www.computerandvideogames.com/article.php?id=116065

Launched last Friday in the UK, Gran Turismo 4 is already one of only four titles that have sold over a quarter of a million units in launch week and has secured the honour of becoming the fourth fastest selling videogame on these shores, the top three being GTA: San Andreas, GTA: Vice City and Halo 2.

Now make maths.

And over 265k could be 300k or more in UK the weakest PS3 country.

Thanks for the link.

But thought i would point out to you that UK is the 3rd biggest PS3 sales country currently and is the most in Europe for PS3 sales with 3.5m units sold. Nearly a million units more then it's nearest competitor and almost more then countries Germany and Spain combined.

Would hardly say that was weak :)

Well it wasnt really big in the uk to begin with. It's fantastic numbers, but i doubt it will reach a million there alone. However if the rest of EU follows, then it should be huge!

Weakest in terms of relative internal performance... Certainly weakest PS3 country in terms of percentage of the market controlled in Europe

Do you have some numbers to back that up?

Just to use Black Ops as an example here. In 5 days it sold 2m units in UK. 42% of that was on PS3. That is 840k sold in 5 days in UK alone on PS3...

Would love to see some evidence of bigger numbers then that from the other European countries?

Or are you saying in terms of consoles sold other countries have a higher attach ratio? Because if that is what you are saying it doesn't mean other countries sell more games. Because it is like saying country X has 5 consoles sold, those 5 people bought 5 games this week, making it a 100% attach ratio. But country Y has 100 consoles sold, and of those 20 people bought games this week making it a 20% attach ratio. But while the attach ratio is 4x lower then that of Country X it's sales are x3 higher.

Point being in terms of volume of software sold i would think PS3 software sales in UK are much higher then that of the other European countries.

Nice numbers, there were like 30 people at the UK midnight launch I attended (and walked away winning a Signature Edition!?) and about half bought a bundled 320gb machine so will be interesting to see if there is a hardware boost?

I saw my first GT5 TV advert yesterday during the Spurs / Liverpool match... Made even my wife say 'those are some impressive graphics' and she only ever plays SingStar or The Sims 3.

I think the GT5 sales will continue into the new year but then there are so many AAA PS3 games hitting UK with Mass Effect 2, Killzone 3, MotorStorm Apocalypse, Little Big Planet 2 all in the first couple of months - too many quality games, no enough time / cash!!

What I'm trying to say is that the 360 is the dominant console in the UK, and so the PS3's UK market is not as significant in terms of its whole European numbers. I don't know about relative attach ratios, but the UK represents under 20% of EMEAA for the PS3 and over 30% of 360

Saying the UK is the PS3's weakest country is not quite the right choice of words, but it is when just considering the battle against the Xbox

Good numbers, nothing huge, but i read GT is not that big in the UK, so is expected I guess

Hyruken

Maybe it's the 3rd biggest ps3 country but not the 3rd biggest GT country.
