Unlocking something as fundamental as damage in a "sim" is stupid and the game deserves to lose points for that.  It's the same as unlocking characters in a fighter to play online - a waste of everyone's time.

First impressions matter a lot.  Nobody should be expected to grind through subpar gameplay to unlock something that should have been a menu option, especially in a "sim".  If a game doesn't impress in the first 5 minutes, it deserves to go in the trash cause reviewers and player's aren't going to waste their time, no matter what the fanboys or devs promise.  Luckily most gaming companies understand this.

I agree with that first part, at least in what you are fundamentally saying. It is pointless to have a progressive damage system that unlocks as you go to higher levels; especially in a sim. I do not see the point.

and I can't believe no one has pointed this out yet........

GT5's leveling system is not stupid nor is it unnecessary and here's why.

unlink in other games in GT5 you have to PAY to repair your car, and the highest level of damage will require a massive amounts of credits to repair. now image if a level 1 had access to full damage, he would not have the credits to repair his car, and will lack credits to obtain new ones making advancing in the game near impossible. the leveling system in GT5 is basically in place as an idiot proof method. because believe it or not people's idea of playing a racing sim is flooring the car in the wrong direction. this  isn't forza, there's no unlimited rewind feature to undo all your mistakes. In GT5 if you mess up your car you gonna pay for it......literally. the leveling system is there to make sure you can pay for it.

What about tiered payment that scales with levels?

That would have been a way better option. Cost of repairs is based on your level.

See the sparks?

There are not as many sparks in the full game (NOT EVEN CLOSE)

1/ like I have said : he need to pressure the car during a LONG period of time to get it. And the car/car contact part was more damaged.

2/ have u tried the exact same situation yourself ?
I didnt, so i dont know

1/ Long period? Look at the video, as soon as he bumps into him -> sparks. You see the front and back rip up but im talking about the sparks here. The cars are going at 150km/h!

2/ Ive tried similar situations where I go about 250km/h and I barely see the sparks.

I played the demo at GAMEX in Sweden and the sparks where just like the video. So what? PD removed it or something ;_; why the fk would they do that, its beautiful! Maybe an update on 1st dec will ..do something? Are you sure the sparks wont start showing up when you reach A-spec 20/40? ISNT THERE ANYONE THAT ALREADY IS 20-40?!
