Regardless of the 8.5 score, it seems IGN still hold a grudge against the game for taking it's time.

I've never agreed with IGN on anything, I think this is another thing to do so with but whatever.

JUST SAW. I actually agree with 8 to 3 mostly....but I would move them up to 10-5.

No Wii on top 10 dissapointments this year. That would be great if I trust IGN a little more.

Funny, no Fallout: New Vegas there when IGN named it their most anticipated game of 2010 and it turned out to be a pile of crap.

Sonic is good.

PS Move is good.

Lost Planet.... was disappointing?  it wasn't hyped at all...

Kane And Lynch ? ... did anyone actually mention the game anywhere?

Crackdown idk yet.

Kinect idk yet.

Fable III is actually not that hyped , and also is to date the best Fable game.

Medal of Honor is good , its not complex like other shooters its actually more of an old school shooter

GT5 is one of my favorite games this year

FFXIII was disappointing storywise, and of course there is no towns! >:( , but the battle system is one of the best!

IGN must be desperate for hits...

What they wrote about it outlines exactly what's wrong with the review they (And a few other sites, it seems) put up.

"Was it worth the wait? For ardent fans, undoubtedly. For everyone else, however, we really have to wonder if Polyphony Digital understands that it ultimately painted itself into a corner. The expectations placed upon Gran Turismo 5, built off the back of years of waiting, refining, teasing, rethinking, hyping and overselling ultimately took its toll."

They weren't really reviewing the game itself. They were reviewing the game against the expectations they had.

In a way, I suppose it's Sony's/Polyphony's own fault for hyping it up to be the 2nd coming of Jesus, but seriously... Some of these reviews are plain stupid. Even in the IGN review the reviewer stated that it was by far the best racing simulator he had ever played... Yet he still felt the need to give it an 8.5?

AND! I have to complain again. They also listed Pokemon Heart Gold/Soul Silver as a disappointment? WHAT!? I am beginning to lose all faith in IGN.
