Here how the music industry opreates these days:

First, I need to state that pepole are educated these days for ignorance, stupidity etc etc, that's not coincidental, pepole in top spots in the TV business, music business etc etc know that the best costumers are the least informed ones.

So, now,  the record bands want to have brands (not bands) who get them money, Justin Bieber, Lady GaGa (although she's an anomaly in certain aspects, i'll elaborate if you'd like me to) Jonas Brothers, etc etc, all of these are individuals who were handpicked for having an okay voice, good looks, zero inspiration, and zero talent in any other way.

This way, the companies can control what pepole hear, they just send these singles to radio stations, and because they are "catchy", they will catch on, and when the effect wears off pepole will stop listening to them, because they only listened to such music because "it's cool" and because it's on the radio.

Now, the music companies can regulate this rotation of new brands to suc an extent that no real new musicians will get a shot at going big, and will never get a big following (because the music created has nothing but catchiness and cheese, which only effects tween girls), so pepole will just keep on listening to the radio, and never try and search for real music.

:(

Dont put Lady Gaga in the Zero Talent bunch

She is an amazing singer, really amazing infact. she can write very good and catchy songs along with Rock Ballads. feel free to bash the shit out of the rest of the charts

I don't think she is that popular. She's just an artist thats being crammed down people's throats by radio stations and the music industry. Ask around and you will find very few people who are actually fans of hers. The good thing about this is that her career probably won't last much longer and we wont be subject to her "music" after that.

Dude, that's why she's the anomaly -___-

Bet with Dr.A.Peter.Nintendo that Super Mario Galaxy 2 won't sell 15 million copies up to six months after it's release, the winner will get Avatar control for a week and signature control for a month.

I can only speak for Britain here, but we all love Two and Half Men.

Ke$ha...nassomuch.

Whenever someone says that an artist or a song isn't "real music", it basically means: "Hey, I don't like that song so it's not real music!"

People have different tastes.

No, there are some things that are just bad art. Ke$ha is part of that category, just like any Michael Bay movie, Stephanie Meyer novel, or Thomas Kincaide painting, to choose other popular artists (sic) from other media. They're uninspired messes meant to sell the most units to those that just don't care if something is good or not. From a technical standpoint, they all have glaring weaknesses (everything about a Bay movie is pretty much terrible, Meyer is actually a very bad writer, and Kincaide, well, I just fucking hate the douche).

Check my former post.
Than back to his response.
Now back to my post.
Now back, to his.

Sadly, by now you've realized that you cannot have a rational discussion with that guy, and you'll have to spend your time doing something more productive.

Wait.. I wasn't responding to your post. If I was I would have quoted you.

And I'm very capable of having a rational discussion...

Oh great. We've destroyed Britian with that bad TV show.

You gave us The Office, and we gave you Two and a Half Men. Thats like the indians trading food to the colonists for diseased blankets. You totally got screwed, sir.

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

You said something about "pepole saying things about real music" just after I used that term, so I thought you were responding to me.

In that case, I apologize for what I said earlier :(

The other part of my former response (regarding McDonald's) still stands though :P

Just like any other form of expression (art, film, literature), the content that is aimed at the lowest common denominator is usually not very good. Stop listening to crappy mainstream pop radio and get on with your day.

A little off topic, and not that I'm saying that games are art or anything, but this is also true of video games as well. Right down to the "you just have a different opinon" arguments I have seen all over the place when talking about the equivalent of Backstree Boys in video games.
