9/10

Out of the 3 original Star Wars movies this is the best one. Out of all 6 episodes however this one falls right below Revenge of the Sith for me.

Love the product, not the company. They love your money, not you.

The best film in the series and one of my favorite films ever made. It is pure staggering greatness from start to finish, and the duel between Luke and Vader is the best duel in the series.

10/10

Pros:

Boba Fett
Astroid Chase
Battle of Hoth
"Why, you stuck up, half-witted, scruffy-looking Nerf herder."
"Laugh it up, Fuzzball."
"No... *I* am you father!" :O
Actually, the whole Darth Vader vs Luke Skywalker battle was fantastic.

and last but not least:

"I love you."
"I know."

Cons:

Incest
Some Yoda bits are dull...

9.5/10

3rd Best Star Wars movie behind Episode 1 and Episode 3.

I saw this movie after Episode 1 and Episode 4 (seeing Episode 1 before Episode 4 or this one)

I liked this one much more than Epiosde 4....it was more action packed, the story pacing was much better, Yoda was there and there was more talk about Jedi!!

CLOUD CITY and everything about it was really amazing!! The Lightsaber battle at the end was definetely good and the "I am Your father" scene is one of the best, though for me it wasn't a surprise as I'd already seen Episode 1 and my dad told me the little kid in Episode 1 becomes Darth Vader.....soooo the "I am your father" scene didn't have the effect on me that it probably did on everyone else. But it was still a great scene because of Luke finding out.

How can anyone forget DARTH VADER'S ENTRY with the Best Character Theme ever!

Romance was done very well in this one.....Han Solo and Carrie both had a good chemistry and the dialogue was good, this is how Episode 2's romance should've been!!

It has very few bad things......one of those is Yoda's parts being downright boring in some parts and that swampy disgusting place Degobah eww, the beginning part stretching on for a bit too long (Han having to go out and save Luke and so on)....all that could've been done more quickly!

Other con's include I still missed more Jedi and lightsaber stuff that Episode 1 had in spades, Coruscant and so on.

All hail the KING, Andrespetmonkey

Oh and

"I Love you", "I know" >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> "I Truly, deeply, Love you" (Episode 2 quote)

Probably the only good part from Something Something Darkside (the Family Guy Episode V spoof):

6/10. It's by far the worst Star Wars movie IMO.

Care to justify further than that? I appreciate that many people have posted "9" or "10" and words to that effect, but your opinion is highly controversial, so some justification would be nice.

pro

- character development
- everthing else

con
the power of the I'm your father scene is greatly reduced because of the prequels.. luckly I'm not one of those who saw the prequels first..

Face the future.. Gamecenter ID: nikkom_nl (oh no he didn't!!)

Empire Strikes back took the universe established in Star Wars and slapped us across the face with it, showed us the side of it that we had not considered in our fantastical musings. It was a movie full of betrayal, despair, strife, defeat, and the real darkness of the human heart held up like an all-consuming negative flame. Even the best and most uplifting moments in the movie (the times spent with Yoda) were surrounded and colored by darkness, by a sense that the galaxy, when you got down to it, was still a dirty and dangerous place where good people could do terrible things.

I could write something longer, more substantial, but I won't. It's not something I have the time to do justice to.
