I think GT5 may be hurt by the leaked copies because now that they are out there, it's only a matter of time until they show up online(torrents).  That could really hurt it's numbers.


How is that ? Doesnt GT5 require a higher FW then 3.41 ?  Isnt that the reason why it was delayed ?

Jailbreak works only with 3.41 afaik. So how are torrents hurting it ? Whats hurting it is that its delayed again imo.


I thought they had found a workaround to that.  Didn't medal of honor require the latest firmware?  But it worked with FW 3.41.  I'm not 100% sure on this.

I read up some articeles about that and it doesn't really require the new update in terms of content, there was just one or two files that needed to be changed in order to start MoH, so it's likely that GT5 will be playable from the start as well. (Especially since the hackers now know which file to alter)

But still the jailbreak dongles are far from being widespread, so I guess the impact would be pretty small.

There will not be pirate copys, because GT5 was the new SDK that do not work with ps3jailbreak

Looks like all those pre-ordering Black Ops didn't want to pre-order any other game this week. Kinda low for everyone else...

Epic Mickey, Donkey Kong Country, and Sonic Colors keep on truckin'...

Not that high, but it will sell well. The problem I see its that Activision made a HUGE mistake releasing Goldeneye 007 and Call of Duty just 1 week apart, either the sales of Goldeneye will suffer and will be short on legs, or Call of duty will sale less than expected.

IF GT5 released last week maybe pre-order would be lower than 250k.

GT5 is now becoming more and more bigger... over 300 pre-order is possible.

Delay saved GT5... the monster is coming.

as now its delayed and people will start pre-ordering other games that come in Q1,Q2

 

and the fact VGC doesn't count canceled pre-orders which would have happened after it got delayed
