Uhh 3.5/10.
I really didn't find it that great. Apart from the rise of Darth Vader, that bit was pretty sweet.
Bad Things:
'Give up, I have the higher ground!' - We see Jedis jumping all over the fucking place through all of the movies and suddenly somebody has a huge advantage because they're on a four foot hill?
Dialogue.
General grievous was a boring character.
Yoda v Palpatine, it was alright but didn't have any feeling of desperation.
The Jedi are way too stupid.

6 / 10 - which is generous, but the action sequences were okay and at least there was finally some attempt to explain how Anakin ends up as Vadar. Plus, the final duel - well, until it became apart Lucas had no idea how to effectively end it - at least captured a bit of the emotion and resonance of the duel in Empire (although it still lags miles behind that).
Good stuff - some sort of arc for Anakin, Palpatine / Yoda showdown, some decent action, very cool birth of Vader scene - until he talks that is, more on that later
Cons - sheesh the same of prequel trilogy issues - terrible script, good actors struggling with the script, weak plotting that feels hemmed in by the presence of the OT and the events it established, awful resolution to Obi Wan / Anakin duel, awful solution to getting rid of Padme, Vader speaks! And it is not good. Again, the Jedi are just idiots, but at least this time they are idiots paying for their idiocy so I guess that's something.
Note I've been a bit kinder on Clones/Sith than they may critically deserve, simply because at times both, moreso Sith, for a moment show a flutter of what could have been - indeed should have been.
But in the end I think of the prequels as a huge failure. Lucas knew what had to happen in general outline, the lines of fate for all the characters had been set in the OT, and he simply failed as a writer when it came to the details of the events and how they came to be in delivering anything remotely worthy of the series high of Empire.
The prequels are very bad to terribly average films, and following a trilogy that counts two classics and a decent finale that's pretty awful going.
Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...
No one else has mentioned "Battle of the Heroes" by John Williams.
I thought it was pretty fantastic. Espeially when it hints at themes from the original trilogy. ^_^
a 8/10 from me :D though the plot wasnt a great as it could have been it did a greate job in showing the final events before the true birth of darth vader which was a big eal of a queston that they could easily have mucked up. The effect where aaaaaaawesome expeshaly the final scene which was just plain epic. compared to episode 1 and 2 its an amazingly amazing of amazing film :P
Yeah i know my spelling sucks but im dysgraphic so live with it :3

Battle of the heroes is awesome
This is my fav track from the movie
4/5
... I agree with many of the other sentiments. Best of the prequals.
The fall(which I personally thought happened in 2) was weak and shallow. This was the climatic ending. The build up of the other 2 movies. In the end I was so dissociated with Anakin that I really could care less. If anything this movie damaged that who is Darth Vader. Love is a great motivator, but the entire relation sucked. They had nothing that resembeled a good relationship... unless Padme likes being dominated and her entire frontal face beliefs in the government was really a sham for power. If they played Padme's hunger for power that only Anakin knew. Then yeah. I think this could have worked better.
Squilliam: On Vgcharts its a commonly accepted practice to twist the bounds of plausibility in order to support your argument or agenda so I think its pretty cool that this gives me the precedent to say whatever I damn well please.
5/10
The best of a bad bunch (prequels).
Cons-
Padme dying from losing the will to live after giving birth to twins is stupid.
The nooooooooooooo scene made me feel sick.
Anakin is still a pussy.
Obi-Wan beating Anakin because he was on a slightly higher hill.
How weak the Jedi order is.
Script................. again.
Acting.............. again.
Pros-
Palp and Vader looking over the Death Star.
Seeing the Millenium Faclon if you looked real close.
Obi-Wan delivering Luke to Owen and Beru.
Thank God the prequels are out of the way so we can turn to the real Star Wars movies now.

The best quote I've seen this year:

Imagine how much more powerful the rise of Vader would have been without the "no".
Palpatine tells Vader that Padme is dead. Vader looks down, maybe at his hands. Says nothing. The room around him warps and shatters, conveying grief and rage together without a word spoken.
It's pretty bad when I think that I would have done a better job editing that script than Lucas did.
