Can VGC track India? Cause the game seems to be big there (midnight launch). In fact I think that until Polyphony posts the sales on their website, GT5 will be undertracked in EMEAA.

Lol well looky what i found, here on Vgchartz.

Gran Turismo 5 (PS3) is this week’s top game in its last week before launch. The game adds 21,000 pre-orders for a grand total of 281,000. Expect first week sales in America to be in the 450,000 to 550,000 range. The series being more popular in EMEAA and just as popular in Japan as in America expect worldwide sales for the first week to be in the 1.8 million to 2.2 million range.

And whatd i say? i said 2 million for the second time 100% accurate, but no no if youd like to continue saying how wrong i and Vgchartz is please go ahead, im sure your prediction of 4.5 million over double the estimate will be soooo much more realistic.

But perhaps Vgchartz just happened to forget its Black Friday aswell, good luck with your laughter, its becoming less likely by the second.

And whats worse for any PS3 game 2 million week 1 is fantastic, it puts it in the Top 25 best opening, best PS3 exclusive opening and 5th best overall. But you just had to ruin it for yourself by being greedy and hoping for the impossible.

yahh cause vg is 100% right on all the time, lol. They never adjust.  They can just guess stuff so well that im sure they all have millions in the bank from guessing lotto and playing proline.

soon enough kid, soon enough.

Vgchartz is rarely right but they are usually close enough, funny though if Vgchartz said they predict 4.4-4.6 million opening then youd be all over it.

So thats another thing going to proving it wont open to 4.5 million. And if it holds then even if GT5 was lucky enough to have the same legs as GT4 it wont be hitting 9 million and we all know most games alot more frontloaded than before so my 7 million is looking pretty good i gotta say.

I think that people that think that GT5 will be the best selling in the franchise are forgetting something. How do you expect it to outsell all of the others when the install base of the PS3 is one third of the PS2? If you want a prime example look at FF13. Did it sell poorly? No. Did it come close to some of the FF on the PS2? Not even close. Not to mention that the 360 sold it also. They are selling FF13 for $20 this weekend, and I still doubt it will sell that many. I think that many will be surprised at the under-stellar sales that GT5 will receive.

How big was the PS2 base when GT3 launched again? ...

By the end of 2001 7 million more in 2 years than PS3 in 4 years.

GT3 was an early game so it sold well like FFX and MGS2 due to lack of competition. Same goes for why mediocre games likes Resistance and Motorstorm have sold over 3.5 million on PS3 they came out early when there where few options for PS3 owners to buy.

Thats why by the time Resistance 2 and Motorstorm 2 came out they disappointed because now there was GTA4, MGS4, Call of Duty etc

GT5 is not in the same place as GT3 was.

Exactly. If anyone has noticed, racing games are not as in demand as they used to be. I'm sure that GT5 is a very good game, but people don't buy racing games like they used to.

Forget about GT and Mario Cart and no racing game EVER has even gotten close to 10m in sales.

So just when did they sale so much ?

Were racing games ever in high demand. If anything, the demand is growing.

Mario Kart Wii is the best selling Mario Kart. The franchise is growing.

Forza 2 has outsold Forza1 and Forza 3 will outsell Forza 3. The franchis is growing.

The only series in a downfall is N4S and that's because of year by year mediocre releases. The franchise has probably reached it's peak but it's definitely improving compared to recent iterations.

Burnout 5 is going to be the best selling in the series. I have no doubt it'll sell another 500k to catch Burnout 3. The Franchise is growing.

As for Gran Turismo 5, I'ts not going to be the best in the series, but it will sell big. It wil be bundled greatly and it's sales won't stop until GT6 and/or PS4 releases.

I take you are unaware about VGs history of undertracking PS3 games, ask the others about Uncharted adjusments.

Little Big planet is in its 108th week, it sold 18k last week.

GTA4 133rd week on PS3 alone it just sold 22.5k

Mario Kart 136th week, 80.5k

Forza 3 in 56th week, 62k

Uncharted 2 in 57th week, 24k

Ohh yahh no legs this gen.

Youre just getting desperate now, "pure lulz" are you a kid? come on, yeah its Black Friday so GT5 is gonna open to twice what GT4 did on the PS2 right. Yeah thats not happening.

Though i doubt it, i hope youre here when Worldwide numbers come in for GT5 because i wanna see if you make excuses, i already know you predicted 4.5 million so when it doesnt come close i wanna see your reaction.

PS3 sold 440k last year on BF, it sold 140k the whole week prior while selling 445k the week ending dec 26th.

Can you maybe comprehand the BF sales jump compared to any other day ? or is it still lost on you.

Ill be here laughing at you and enjoying it greatly.

Its comprehend not comprehand lol. The numbers you mention just prove that hardware jumps a lot, which i already knew that, everyone knows that. And the PS3 is down year on year anyway so it may not hit last years 486,000. It wasnt 440,000.

And so that means GT5 is gonna have miracle numbers? 1.5 million in US week 1 , when something like MW2 which everyone knows was far more hyped then GT5 only did 1.65 on PS3. GT5 wont get anywhere close to that.

Last black Friday the best selling game was Wii sports with 600,000, the Mario game in its second week also 600,000. So its clear GT5 isnt doing 1.5 million.

You wont be here after black friday though once those numbers come in you wont reply here is my bet. Even the people who support GT wouldnt say the nonsense your saying, you will definitley be wrong.

I'm sorry, if you insist on playing grammar police, at least consider these points;

Capital "I" in first person form at all times.

"Which i already knew that" is hardly a good sentence to post when correcting others and "lol"ing at their efforts.

" when something like MW2 which everyone knows was far more hyped then GT5 only did 1.65" You add a space before the comma as well as after, which is incorrect use of punctuation and you forego the use of a comma after "MW2" and before "only".

You missed the capital B in "Black Friday" but somehow remembered the capital F.

"Won't" is written with an apostrophe, unless you meant the actual word "wont" which is something entirely different and would be wildly out of context. You make the same mistake twice in one sentence and miss yet another comma after "You wont be here after black friday though". You also constrict "wasn't" into "wasnt" farther up.

You also constrict "wouldn't" into "wouldnt" with no apostrophe and miss with the use of "your" when it should say "you're".

Lastly, definitely is definitely not spelled "definitley".

If you want to be smart, try to at least be smarter than the subject you "lol" at.

PS: English is my second language and it took me two minutes to find all those errors. If you simply miss a key, there is an edit function.

PPS: Yes, I am being a bit of an ass now but I'm only making a point.

Sorry thats just nitpicking, mispelling words and being too lazy to add apostrophes arnt the same thing.

Its also predictable, i already knew someone was gonna mention "oh you said wouldnt when its actually wouldn't, maybe before correcting people you should get it right yourself" that usual routine, happens everytime.

I take you are unaware about VGs history of undertracking PS3 games, ask the others about Uncharted adjusments.

Man, you sure do alot of assuming, no i knew that already, anyway "you seem to be unaware of..." no i probably already know. Things get undertracked, things get overtracked, but nothing has ever been off by an entire 2 million.

Vgchartz estimated week 1 for MW2 the biggest game of all time pretty early and they were only off by 700,000-800,000 9they overpredicted it)

The estimate for GT5 of 1.8-2.2 million could end up being 2.5 million, maybe they could be really off and it could be 3 million (though thats very very unlikely) but its not gonna end up being 4.5 million they arnt gonna be off by over 2 million.

GT5 will probably sell 700k in NA week one. 2 Million in EMEAA week one and 600k japan week one. I know im about to get flamed but I think it might end up doing 3.5-4 million week one. Why??? India, Middle East, etc. Just look at the population of India. Over 1 billion people. Lets say about 1% of the population owned a ps3 and maybbe 10% of that number bought GT5. Thats maybe 1 million copies sold. Same with Middle East. Maybe the "overshipped" PS3s are just going to INdia and those hard to track areas? This is the 1st midnight launch India has had. There needs to be a reason for that and I tink it is the sales.

If even 1% of India had a PS3 then thats 10 million PS3s, according to Vgchartz theyve sold 3.5 million PS3s across Asia (not Japan), Africa and Middle East.

So if 10% of Indian PS3 owners bought GT5 on day 1 that wouldnt even equal 200,000 copies for the game.
