Forums - Nintendo - Epic Mickey Info Blowout!

I still cannot muster any hype for this game. Am I all alone or has DKC hypnotised me with its awesomeness?

The name Warren Spector sealed the deal for me when the game was announced., and I still hope the sequel will be called More Epic Donald.

Besides Blizzard's Craft games, I'm a pretty pathetic PC gamer, so I really didn't know who Warren Spector was when this game was announced. Fast forward to day, and I love the guy. He just seems to be so excited about gaming, it's contageous really.

Actually, what got me on board for Epic Mickey was when I saw that Game Informer cover.

Right when I saw The Haunted Mansion, I knew I had to have this game. The Haunted Mansion is like, my favorite thing ever.

@Homer

That's too bad, but hopefully you'll try the game out anyways! Yeah, Donkey Kong Country Returns is going to be amazing though. Seriously, I was saying this in another thread, but with Epic Mickey, DKC and Sonic Colors all coming out in November... it's just going to be an amazing month for me. Probably my best month in video gaming ever. EVER!

Warren Spector imo was one of the world's best PC game producers of the 90s/00s. He worked at Origin Systems and Looking Glass Studios on Utlima Underworld, Ultima VII, System Shock, Thief, Deus Ex - some of the best PC games ever.

I just read a very interesting interview with him about Epic Mickey in Germany's best videogame magazine. I realized he hasn't changed at all and still seems to be extremely passionate about his games - unlike other legendary and once brilliant US game producers/designers, such as Will Wright (varying the same gameplay idea forever until he finally understood it leads nowhere and left EA), Richard Garriott (Spector's ex-boss/ ex-compagon at Origin, ridiculously rich and bored and completely losing touch to real life and the fans of his Ultima games over the years), Sid Meier ([letting his Firaxis team] refine his best and most successful game every 5 years; everything will be fine for him and his company as long as the next game starts with Sid Meier's), Chris Roberts (Wing Commander creator and Origin's other legend besides Garriott, not much to say about him except that I'm glad he disappearad long ago).

I know Spector is not very well known on VGC as this is primarily a console site, but I knew when I first read his name that this project has lots of potential.

Darkwing Duck game?

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

I would love a Darkwing duck game, one of my favorite Disney shows of all time

One of my favourite Mickey cartoons (and as usual Donald and Goofy steal the show). It will be referenced in the game, like many other cartoons.

Interview with Spector and his team: http://www.gametrailers.com/video/behind-the-epic-mickey/705597

"Waren made the game for Wii for three reasons. 1) The main game mechanics at the time were only possible on the Wii Remote. 2) The Wii's expanded audience. 3) Waren is a self admired HUGE Nintendo dork. "Miyamoto touched me on the shoulder at E3 and I suddenly became a better game designer!"

This make my day.

MY ZELDA COLLECTION

Now I really want to get the game...
