I don't think I could even handle this much awesomeness for more than 30 minutes per gaming session.

I have seen more scripted events in this ten minutes than in a whole other game.

EDIT: That's obviously a good thing

Scripted events...a good thing?  Is that what gaming is turning in to? Oh dear...

When I see this film I see a game that looks nice but gameplay wise isn't something to make me hype it as you guys are doing.

I can tell that presentation and atmosphere will be top notch...but is this really goign to be fun to control and play for me? I would go with no based on what I saw so far...

Lots of scripted events is a good thing? Now that's a first.

As long as you can still move around and aren't forced to watch the sequences, yes it's VERY good.

I agree with that...the best scripted event I've seen in a long ime is in Halo reach, and this is because you still have control to move and have to fight the covenant while these events are going on. Those are always welcome.

What we don't want is QTE during scripted events or pauses every 2 minutes for a scripted explosion or some other "cinematic" like event which takes control away fromt he gamer and disrupts gameplay.

You only have to look as far as Uncharted 2 to see how incredible a game full of playable scripted events can be.

Nice powers but that's all special there is. That said, I think I'm going to like it more than the original Bioshock. Or not. I don't know.

exactly that's why I also said that I couldn't handle more than 30 minutes of that kind of gameplay I saw in this Bioshock Infinite trailer. Very well done, but of course a bit too few scenes where you can really "play" the game.

I wouldn't mind at all when I see something similar to this a few times in the game, but I'm sure they know that they also need to make some sequences with less scripted events.

Still I'm pretty sure this part is rather at the beginning of the game, where there is usually more emphasis on story than gameplay.

I see it more as an interactive cutscene, just better as simple QTE events :)

Well it pales compared to open world games and I haven't played Uncharted 2 yet, only about 1/4th of Unchated.

Uncharted 1 didn't but I hope Uncharted 2 will change my mind a bit about scripted events. I don't like them but sometimes they're a necessary evil (all games have scripts to some extent)

In this Bioshock Infinity demo I can't see the obvious good about them.

Was it really only me and Disolitude who thought this looked on-rails?

This looks so awesome they have to release it in 2011 though. THEY MUST!!!!!!

The graphics and presentation beats anything we've seen in this gen far. So I am extremely impressed even if it's an on-rails scene.
