Seriously... do you really think it's so easy to find anything related to any sexual proclivation online? You must be a guru... I did my Uni thesis on Sexual Deviations and I had a pretty hard (but enjoyable) time finding all the reference material I needed...

Seriously. I think it's much easier than in real life. I don't know why you assume that average sex-shop has a full coverage of all even the most kinky preference. For example in many countries lot of stuff is illegal (zoophilia etc.) - you can't just enter and ask about horse stuff (I meant you can but you wont get what you want). At least not in sex-shop I visited. Web is a heaven for pervs as Hus mention.

EDIT: can -> can't

Seriously. I think you are missing the point. Web is a safe[haven] for pervs who

a) know how to protect themselves from trackers, malware, etc, etc, etc and etc.

b) don't ever share their computers with people that might be offended by seeing what that perv does online

And where I live, well... we gets'em all...

a) Sites don't use all this crap (the good one). They provide really good custumer service. It's not a wild west anymore (no pop-up's, links etc.). No1 want to rubber you with high phone bills, they want you to comeback. It works like any other business. You can sell crap once but the real art is to stay on the wave.

b) Don't you think porn collection (DVD,VHS etc.) is a bit harder to secure than your laptop? Children may find it pretty interesting a bit too early.

Anyway, sony is going to have to reduce the price of the samsung players if it wants the blu-ray to be competitive. Now, sony is probably going to get anywhere from $1-3 from royalties per DVD. Studio fees, marketing, production and shipping are going to take a loooottttt out elsewhere, but sony will always get a cut.  It's kind of like the mafia...you always get a cut ho ho ho.

Anyway, if sony promised to samsung, that they would get say 20% of this cut for all future DVD sales, it might be worth it for samsung to chop the price down to $400 for blu-ray players and getting 80% of the world market would be much better than getting 100% of the USA market.....and thats it.  Sony had better do something....quick.

Can everyone stop arguing about porn and get back to the the actual point

 while i agree with these sentiments for a different reason, i think they should cut them quick to get this thing over faster....even with considerably higher prices BD is still leading having outold HD DVD enough to tak eover the LTD lead as well as dominating YTD....i dont see why you act liek some desperation is in order for BD to stay afloat when at this point i think its more important for HD DVD to so something quick before the Sony blockbusters start to roll out, Spidermen, Pirates, Cars, Apocalypto, Matrix in the fall, i truly think sony is in the drivers seat....i just hope they dont get too arrogant and let HD DVD hang around long enough.....if they get stand alones down to 400 by xmas i think with the ps3 userbase and the content they have HD DVD would really have to drop to about 150 by xmas, but thats just my opinion, obviously.

Ummm.....is picture quality that big of an issue with porn? I really don't understand what you really need to see in 1080 resolution. I can just here it now if you think her____ looks good now just wait till i show it to you in ....HD. I know there is a big difference in picture quality but how clear does "bumpin' Uglies" need to be?

I think Sony will win the war... but I still hate them

This talk of price of players is nonsense. Currently, only early adopters are buying the HD media discs. That means the people that understand what HD is for, and who know quality. These people just don't care that the player is $200 more. They want quality, and if that means waiting for money or buying the lesser quality, they will wait ! In Europe, I've seen that the HD discs start to come at DVD prices in stores (30 €). That means there's now an incentive to buy them instead of DVD. Of course, only people that understand HD and that have the hardware will buy those. We don't have lots of HD content in Europe, so this can work well for Sony. With a good TV set, you can bypass buying a good DVD player (that upscales better than your TV), and buy a HD player instead. And for that, the PS3 is a VERY good choice, as it's easily upgradeable, and it is a cheap player. The HD-DVD extension of MS doesn't even come close as a choice, as nearly no HD TV accepts 1080p through YUV, as it's not standard at all. Fortunately, 1080i has the same quality, as the source is actually 1080i on these HD discs. I don't know what the PS3 can do, but if it can upscale DVD (better than the TV set), or at least deinterlace them, then it's a winner for this format war (not as a game console).

I know several home theater enthusiasts are actually waiting to be sure of the winner, but most agrre that Blu-Ray should win.

And as it goes, even if HD-DVD doesn't disappear, it will be rendered irrelevant, as everything will be on Blu-Ray.

Stever, and ookaze, y'all are really saying the same thing, about the YTD sales pointing to blu-ray's dominance ( or relative dominance) and that prices won't affect this.

Fine.  But that is only b/c blu-ray seems to be winning in america, b/c america is pretty well-off compared to the rest of the world, so we will be the people that buy high-definition DVDs.  The rest of the world, it seems, is going HD-DVD, so a minority of high-def DVD's will go to HD-DVD unless sony does something to reverse this trend.
