I don't think they will go bankrupt but I have to wonder if FF13 sales in japan were low to due the outright lying of SE. I could care less if it goes multiplat but say so from the start, don't sit there and say exclusive when you know damn well that it's not.

Let's say if Versus goes to xbox as well. What kind of delay will it suffer? What kind of sacrifice does it have to take in order to make both version identical?

If Versus goes to 360, it's probably been in development for awhile already, and probably won't delay the project overall or impede it's design in any meaningful way.  Like what happened with FFXIII and FFXIV.

FF XIV has been announced for 360?

not officially...but its alive

Square said at E3 last year after the Sony press conference they are looking at Live when questioned about FF14 on 360. They didnt confirm, but it was one of those dev moments were it will but we cant say. After all FF11 did well on 360.

Ok @ OP.

Either Japan is loyal and Americans are betrayers, or Americans are smart and Japanese are self centred morons.

Basically, the reason it would go multi is the following:

FF13 sold over 1 mill on another consoles first outing since FF7. SE cant ignore the extra sales.

Japan is no longer that important in game sales or console sales. SE have to think about the Western markets, where M$ are just as if not bigger than Sony currently. If Natal has this huge push in sales M$ wants, then Sony's console will get alot less love from Japan in the West. Simply because 360 is the king of HD.

While I don't agree with the OP, I *am* getting sick of people saying Japan is irrelevant. Well, as I've noticed, only M$ fans say that, and that's the one region the 360 is the irrelevant one. Anyway, Japan alone outsold FFXIII on the 360. I wouldn't call that irrelevant or "not important to game sales"

Japan's pretty clearly not irrelevant but it has shifted overwhelmingly away from consoles in general, and it's the one region we can say FFXIII legitimately underperformed.  And lifetime, FFXIII 360 will definitely outsell it's JP figures (which were overtracked by basically everyone btw).

Sorry. Dont get me wrong, it'snot irrelevant. It's just not as important. Japan devs just cant ignore 360 in the West was my point. :)

Additionally there've been staff resume leaks confirming it, plus it was actually announced for 360 way back when it was called "Requiem".

you mean like how SE died when they betrayed Nintendo and FF7 went to PS? or like how FFXlll went Multi?

You mean how like they ran into a technical wall in development on the N64, so the moved it over to the PS1 so they could actually make the game how they wanted to? Yea, the multiplatform talk of Versus is getting a little old now. We just have to wait and see at E3, but *this* that you just posted. It's just totally and completely incorrect in the context that you're trying to use it.

"Development of Final Fantasy VII resumed in late 1995,[32] and required the efforts of approximately 120 artists and programmers, using PowerAnimator and Softimage|3D software and a budget of more than US$30 million.[43] Final Fantasy VI's co-director and scenario writer, Kitase, returned to direct and co-write Final Fantasy VII and was concerned the franchise might be left behind if it did not catch up to the 3D computer graphics used in other games at the time.[44] Production began after the making of a short, experimental tech demo called "Final Fantasy SGI" for Silicon Graphics, Inc. Onyx workstations. The demo featuredpolygon-based 3D renderings of characters from Final Fantasy VI in a real time battle.[45] This experiment led the development team to integrate these design mechanics into Final Fantasy VII. However, as a result of the high quantity of memory storage required to implement the motion data, only the CD-ROM format would be able to suit the project's needs.[32] Nintendo, for which Square had developed all previous titles in the Final Fantasy series, had decided to continue to use cartridges for its upcoming Nintendo 64 console. This eventually led to a dispute that resulted in Square ending its long, tumultuous relationship with Nintendo, and Square announced on January 12, 1996 it would be developing Final Fantasy VII for Sony's PlayStation platform.[46]"

Read up, and maybe you and everyone else who continually try to condescend people who want FF exclusive to a PS system can learn

that it was NINTENDO'S fault that FFVII wasn't on the N64, not a betrayal of Squaresoft

I love when ppl find info that they think they only know... hows does that change my statement?. SE abandoned Nintendo for years... It doesn't matter why they did it....just they did, you think PS fanboys are gonnsa care why versus went multi ? no...just the fact that it did. So save your history lesson for someboy who doesn't kno and cares.
