Fck wada. If this happns I'll never buy a FF game from them agen unless its announcd multiplat from get go. Xbox 360 hs ruined FF13 grfx & scope, half the contnt was taken out of th game. despite tht FF13 is my game of gen, bt it cud hve been so much more if they ddnt hve to deal with size restrictions

this move will delay versus & bring down its scope (like GTa4 & ffxiii went down in scope). I wnt evr support squre-enix agen, FF13 will be my last if this happens, I am sick of it & PS3 fans r too.

Aragod i couldn't agree more!

Also They only made Xbox 360 exclusive JRPG's before because they wanted to "break into the western market"

But thats backfired since FF13 sales proved JRPG fans are on PS3, there was an article about this ona japanese site apparently, that devs bet on the wrong horse initially for western JRPG sales.

Yep, that's what I'm saying, 3rd party games beeing exclusive is nonsense. The only thing you get with exclusivity is less money (and better game).

In other words, no surprises here.

I dunno, FF13 has done very well on xbox 360, but I still think the sales it has there could have been achieved on PS3 too. I think PS3 can sustain a FF game by itself. But if all S-E is seeing is sales on the paper then yeah they would want to do this move.

I think they should make Versus timed exclusive worldwide at the least as a litmus test. For example many people said MGS4 was going multiplat but when it sold that well on PS3 I don't think Konami felt there was any need to go multiplat.

The PS3 version only outsold the 360 version by 800k in the west, the only areas they were competing in, and the 360 version was clearly a rushed port, so they can't have spent a lot of money on it. If they can start on it earlier, they might even release FFvXIII (360) in Japan as well, and I don't think the PS3 version will be able to sell as much if it's exclusive, as both versions combined if it is multiplat.

I think the chances of FFvXIII remaining exclusive are slim.

So the PS3 couldn't have made up for the 360 sales?

MGS4 did just fine making on PS3 & outsold MGS3.

@geddesmond

YAWN

The plan was to make it linear from the get go, they didn't change the whole games structure after 2008. Did you whine when FFX was on the weakest console last gen?

Get over it.

Ah right so you know it was there plan to make FF13 linear from the get go because? So they planned from the very start to make an area called Gran Pulse which they would use as there only place that gives the player a sense that there playing an RPG. Stick it near the end of the game were it coincidently lands on the 3rd Disk of the Xbox 360 version, Yeah sure they did. Anyone who thinks FF13 wasn't sacraficed for an Xbox 360 version are just fooling themselfs.

Not sure about that one, it's more likely that they were attracted to Microsoft's wads of cash.

He says it all. Warning contains foul language

I guess this is a way of defusing the megaton a bit. I mean people were calling this from when FF13 went multi. I don't think it's as shocking.

Love the product, not the company. They love your money, not you.

HAHAHAHA! Oh god, do it!!!

Maybe we'll have another shoulder tapping moment at Microsoft's E3 presentation this year.

Doubt it, they tried to pull off something similar last year with MGS rising and even made it look exclusive yet I hardly saw any meltdowns unlinke ff13 fiasco.

As I recall, there was a lot of damage control and downplaying of the game for the day or two it took to confirm it was multiplatform.

Then again, maybe there wasn't so much and I'm just harder up for some lulz than I realized. Anyway, I laughed, and isn't that why E3 exists? Yes.

Sigh....SE at least give us one exclusive game that shows off the PS3 muscle....oh well I'll be buying this used

"In video game terms, RPGs are games that involve a form of separate battles taking place with a specialized battle system and the use of a system that increases your power through a form of points.

Sure, what you say is the definition, but the connotation of RPGs is what they are in video games." - dtewi
