Heavy Rain is a sales beast

Who would have said that just 3 months ago, that it would be a "sales beast". It may end up being the poster child for just this sort of genre in the future.

I agree, even some other game sites said it would be a flop since people aren't ready for it and it's not that much of a game

Splinter cell is on the pc aswell though. So I'm sure some people decided to go with the pc version over the 360 version. Still for a new IP heavy rains sales are very impressive.

Some of you guys make it sound like Conviction is flopping. Are the sales below what was expected, just curious?

People just feel like boasting that a PS3 exclusive is doing better than a 360 exclusive obviously.

Conviction is perfomring much better than the last game in the series. People must think its still as popular as the original.

As others have said, I think this speaks more of how well Heavy Rain sold, than how "poorly" Splinter Cell: Conviction sold.

I mean, really, who would have guessed that Heavy Rain would have sold nearly as much as Splinter Cell: Conviction first week.

ya japan sales will add around 20k for SC but still heavy rain has done good.

Japan.. 20k sales? western title? Xbox 360?

ill give it 2000 max

If Modern Warfare can do ~100k on 360 in Japan. Splinter Cell can and will do ~20k in Japan.

That is rather weird how the numbers are so close. Good openings for both.

its no wonder this is coming to ps3. im sure ubi will get it on the ps3 as soon as they can.

This isn't bad for Splinter Cell, it's just really good for Heavy Rain. I personally didn't like HR at all, but I'm still glad it sold well and I hope it encourages game companies to try new and different ideas.

Perhaps Splinter Cell will have the same legs too.

Madison has better legs than Sam Fisher
