The fact is, NPD say the leaks were false...

Can you prove otherwise?

No, they said some of the figures were inaccurate or approximations, before launching into the usual sort of dismissive tirade that Riley's known for.  I'm surprised certain segments around here would lend David Riley so much credence, given what he's also said about VGC being wildly inaccurate as well.

The Valkyria figures were also leaked beforehand though.

What makes you think that?

I just think both have likely sold as much as they're going to for the most part.  Both are probably overtracked to some degree on VGC also.  I could see Demon's Souls possibly making it when it drops in price in America and if it gets a proper European release, but truth be told it's just too esoteric and difficult to really capture the mainstream.  Valkyria's ship has sailed though, no chance there.

Can you prove NPD weren't being dicks because in order to get NPD numbers you have to pay them and AniHawk was posting them on GAF for free?

Something tells me if NPD were correct in that they were false, GAF would be a lot more wary of NPD numbers.

Though I'd like it to be VC I think it will be DS. But they have both brought something new and fresh to this gen and so they really deserve to both be over 1 million now.

And again, David Riley said the NPD leak in question was only partially inaccurate or approximated. David Riley also called ioi a sociopath. I think we all pretty much understand what anything coming out of David Riley's mouth is actually worth...

No gamespot got it wrong, it was Sony who said the game sold 250K
not Atlus or gamestop, the article was taken from 1up

and my guess that's the shipped number for Japan + Asia

The game could be overtracked or even undertracked i dont know, but unless some provide a proof they are

I gave you a link where NPD say the leaks were false... You don't need anything else.

And as for your other link of the "250k sold", it isn't specified if that is Japan or US, or wherever. And he even says "Initial shipments of the game totaled just 15,000 copies". You really think VGC was off by THAT much for first week sales of 105k in NA? Really...?

NPD clearly state that the figures leaked were wrong...

No, they said some were wrong or approximated.  And they never specified Valkyria, who's lower NPD totals were also leaked months beforehand.

Of course if you're taking NPD's view on what's "accurate", you'd have to entirely discount the VGC figures as well.  Again, I'm asking you to consider the source here, read up on David Riley and exactly what he's said before...

Since we don;t know which ones are the "some", then it's not possible for anyone to base an arguement off of the sales that were leaked. And the apporimation was also "way off base". Which means i am still right and the numbers can't be used in any arguement...

As for the VC numbers, i'm sure we will see the truth when VC2 hits any particular milestone.

And i'm not gonna argue against some guy when he's talking about his own companies numbers. Just like i wouldn't argue against ioi about VGC numbers.
