Would I give Final Fantasy Tactics on the GBA a 3 because FF13 got a 9 on the PS3? Nope.

The value is awesome and they were some of the best games in the genre. Furthermore the games aren't even that old, so gameplay wise they are still pretty much up to date.

I'd rather play GoW and GoW II than anything else you just listed and I don't even like GoW that much. In my eyes, that warrants the higher score, graphics be damned.

If someone were to re-release Deus Ex 1, I would personally give it 110% because it's certainly better than anything out in the past half decade. Graphics can go to hell.

Though if someone used today's technology to just re-release Deus Ex 1 but with few modifications, like say a shadow/hide system like in Thief, amazing AI for the baddies, and other such little touches, then the game would easily be 15/10, and I'm not even joking.

Edit: Hell if BioShock got so many 10s, then a re-release of System Shock 2 should be at around 13-14/10 easily.

@OP great games are great games, and it's not only about technology. Probably the GOW collection offers quite more than what Bayonetta, any DMC or NG offer by themselves IN A SINGLE GAME. This is a collection we're talking about, and it's a remaster, but it also packs lots of extra content. Judge it for what it is.

GoW1 and Gow2 are "9" games on their own, when they reviewed as PS2 games. That still holds true, you don't have to put them against what's new today. And btw, no Ninja Gaiden holds a candle to GOW total gameplay package, maybe except Ninja Gaiden Black I'd say (for original Xbox). Bayonetta by today's standards is no more than a 8.5 game (lack of variety, bad storytelling, unimpressive enemy AI for a game that's just fight , fight , fight).
