@OP great games are great games, and it's not only about technology. Probably the GOW collection offers quite more than what Bayonetta, any DMC or NG offer by themselves IN A SINGLE GAME. This is a collection we're talking about, and it's a remaster, but it also packs lots of extra content. Judge it for what it is.
GoW1 and Gow2 are "9" games on their own, when they reviewed as PS2 games. That still holds true, you don't have to put them against what's new today. And btw, no Ninja Gaiden holds a candle to GOW total gameplay package, maybe except Ninja Gaiden Black I'd say (for original Xbox). Bayonetta by today's standards is no more than a 8.5 game (lack of variety, bad storytelling, unimpressive enemy AI for a game that's just fight , fight , fight).
