I'd say it is worth it. For myself, I spend most of my time on Modern Warfare 2 which is super addictive and I would imagine Bad Company 2 to be the same. Especially if you have a Wii, because you'll have the best of both worlds then.

Yes it is worth it Valkyria Chronicles is awesome RPG if you could look at Eternal Sonata for action DMC4, MGS4, Uncharted 2 and for other RPGs Final Fantasy XIII is an awesome game been playing the Japanese Version since December the battle system is one of the best yet.

2 reasons.

A) the PS3 is still expensive (300$ yuck)

B) You'll basically be paying 170$ for VC and 200$ for BC2.... do you really think they are worth this much? (and no since it'll be 9 months till your next buy, it's not an investment for future games...)

Heck you're probably better off getting a 360 for BC2.... it'll cost you the same 200$ and you'd have 170$ for other games on Wii360....

But really....you cited 3 games that you'll buy on the Wii already, can you still afford them when you make this purchase? is there no wii game that you'd want to buy as much as VC and BC2?
I say this cause if you wait till christmass for the PS3 purchase, you'll probably have better deals, like a price drop and bundles.... and since your budget is very restricted, that will count a lot. Plus, by then you'll have other great games to consider (like zelda :p)

I'd go for it. Not many people can get all the games they want for a system when they get it however once you have it (the ps3) getting games latter you really want won't be as much of an issue since you'll have the system. plus you could rent or borrow from friends so you'll have other options for games. Also by the time you are done with the two you have and other games for your other systems (and have time to play more games) you might have money again.

$300 is too much?

I payed around $500 and I'm not complaining, it's a great purchase.

Look at the whole game libraries, if you want a HD console, look at the games and than decide.

I approve of your PS3 choice, I've had Wii and DS and chose PS3. Today I spent much more time on it than on both of my N consoles, the games are just incredible.

170 for Valkyria Chronicles and 200 for Battlefield Bad Company 2?!?!?!?! Where the hell do you live? Valkyria Chronicles in USA costs 20 bucks and BBC2 costs 60. Combined total of 80 without tax. That sounds pretty good.

well if you are into FPS then I say yes, BF can suck up hundreds of hours from you before you get more games for christmas, if you're not then no, you'll probably stop playing after a few weeks and let the console eating dust.

I would say no, as far as those two games go.

But, I think getting a PS3 right now is based on how much of a nessecity it is at the moment. If you really want to play those games, and just can't wait, I would get it for your B-Day. However, if you think you can find other stuff to do over the summer, the PS3 price may come down by this fall. Even if it dosn't I expect MS and Sony to battle very hard with value due to Natal and PSMC.
