or Civilizatoin 4, and a bunch of other games.

Like I said IMO some games are better designed to play with a mouse and keyboard. I think it's sad such developers usually fail to add mouse support on the PS3 for such games.

For instance I refuse to buy such games on the PS3 as long as they don't start to make this optional, for RTS.

Do you realize that EVERYONE needs a computer?

Not everyone and I think laptops are more popular, but not the greatest gaming PC options. There are many not so powerful PC setups out there and being sold. Games which are technically less demanding often sell far more than demanding ones (games, PC gamers usually highlight, like Crysis).

Laptops have been selling better and better recently, agreed. But desktops are still the dominant form of PC. The statement still stands, to go from a PC that handles everyday work such as Office and a gaming PC, you jsut need to drop about $150. No one buys a PC simply to game, not even the most avid gamers, they use them for far far more, things consoles will never be able to even do. So the gaming price is actually a very small amount.

If PC have that much AAA exclusives than name at least 10 of them from 2009....i'm thinking only about The Sims 3...but wait it's coming to consoles too.what a shame...please name it because i can't find none http://www.gamerankings.com/browse.html?site=pc&cat=0&year=2009&numrev=0&sort=0&letter=&search=

  1. The Sims 3
  2. Empire: Total War
  3. Dawn of War 2
  4. Football Manager 2010
  5. Football Manager Live
  6. Dawn of Discovery

I think I'm missing some, but these are atleast more than any console.

:/ I am sorry but as a PC Gamer myself I personally would not call those AAA excluse. Atleast compare to AAA excluse Xbox360 and PS3 games get they are not that great. Maybe just the sims and Torchlight was pretty hyped, coming in a temporarly replacement for D3. Best games on the PC last year were L4D2, DA:O, Batman, Borderlands and in a way MW2 which were for most part console ports.

According to an iSupply study, laptops outsold desktops during holiday season 2008 and for 2009 there are reports of massive gains in laptop sales and a decline in desktop sales.

Most people seem to use PCs for work or study related stuff and internet webbrowsing. For this the PC usually provides a better experience and for such uses I think PCs are more suited placed on a desk instead of in the living room (laptops are better suited to take where you want, but not that great for gaming).

PCs are a launching stage for new developers. And there will always be games for it. Now, does it mean that high production cost games will appear on consoles as the lead platform? I will say that is less and less likely.

I will say that as more and more genres successfully jump to consoles, you will see less top-end games in that genre end up on PCs.

PC gaming will never die but now it's far away behind consoles.
Really how many there were AAA exclusives on PC last year? (by AAA I mean game made with a budget with at least 20mln $ with very good reviews and strong sales)
and on consoles? 10 times much more.
PC is expensive.I can buy a PS3 for 299$ and play Uncharted 2.PC needed for that shiny graphics costs around 800-1000$
PC now rules only in MMOs,RTS and RPG(with best games in this genres also on consoles).

Actually, for that money ($800-1000) you could get a PC that would blow PS3 and Uncharted 2 out of the water and make a significant percentage of multiplatform games look better than Uncharted 2 and do a hell of a lot more on a technical level (better anti-aliasing, longer view distances, higher res textures, higher anistropic filtering etc.). If you wanted PS3 comparable graphics you could get away with spending only $400. Even relatively cheap modern graphics cards can produce PS3-like visuals.

Show me the game on 400$ that will look like the U2...Crysis can't even compare to U2 on 400$ PC.Uncharted 2 is the best looking game ever.Level of detail, animation, effects no game can stand to this beside Crysis and multiplatform games aren't even close

You can buy a cheap, budget desktop for about $300, shove in a $100 Graphics card and it will surpass what Uncharted 2 and PS3 can acheive. I'm running on a 3yr old PC and can play Crysis on medium/high: it looks better than Uncharted 2. You seem to assume multiplatform games on PC aren't significantly better in terms of visuals than there console counterpart. For some game that might be true, but for others it couldn't be further from the truth. I have Call of Duty 4 on PC and whilst the visuals on consoles look terrible, on my PC they come close to Uncharted 2 and that's me running on my 3 yr old PC with a game 2 yrs older than Uncharted 2.

Just for the record, I have a PS3 and Uncharted 2, it looks amazing for a PS3 game and does look better than a good number of PC titles, but at the end of the day, GPUs are cheap and far more advanced that what is in either of the HD consoles.

No.
- PC always had and still has the most exclusive games
- RTS, point&click
- MMO, browser games
- indie games developing & publishing on your own without costs for development kits etc.
- PC still gets big multiplats (RE5, ME2, ACII etc.)
- Civilization 5 (some day )

I think that was supposed to be Civilization Revolution.

How dare you, sir! CivRev was a very good, but downgraded Civ version for console/handheld, definitely not Civ 5.

That's how I tried to rationalize Deus Ex: The Invisible War as well....

Actually the fact that splendid looking games that release on consoles are designed on PC's first and then later ported on to specific consoles. The Crytek engine 2 was used for developing cysis 2 on PC and then later ported on to consoles thru Crytek Engine 3. PC's rule in the graphics department and no way gaming is dying. World of warcraft wouldn't have reached 11.85 in sales indeed then.

WoW sales of 11.85 millon show that there is a ton of money to be made in the PC market. Valve with Steam is posting record profits. PC gaming is in no way dieing.

Steam is awesome, I keep picking up games on sale. Trine for 5, Torchlight for 5, Mount and Blade for 5 (awesome game!), Psychonauts for 2. Steam is the best.
