Goddamn, those are bigger figures than I thought for Tomodachi Life.
Same with the Switch 1 figures.
That old horse *still* has some gallops left in its hooves.

Nintendo is maintaining their targets of 16.5m Switch 2 units and 2m Switch 1 units for the Financial Year

3.82m HW for the quarter is a very good result. When they first announced the 16.5m forecast I thought that was definitely too low, now I'm not so sure but I still think they can beat it if there's no further price rises announced for this year.

The difference in MKW sales now the bundle is over is stark. 3.82m hardware shipped but only 0.69m copies of MK. That's an attach rate of 18% for new systems sold which is low for an MK title. That $80/£75 price tag hitting.

With the price hike, that 16.50 million number is looking about right for Switch 2.

That 2 million number for Switch 1, on the other hand? If it keeps selling like it did this last quarter, it'll definitely get adjusted up.

The price rise for Switch 1 in Japan didn't hit till late may, so this quarter had nearly 2 months pre-hike.

April - 99.5k

May - 58.7k

June - 36.2k

Switch 1 doing better than expected. 159m is definitely in the cards, maybe even 160m.

Switch 2 numbers are good as well, but software-wise things are very different. IMO these numbers clearly show that the system is in desperate need of system sellers after MKW.

It all falls on the shoulders of OoT Remake. After that, things should pick up again with (probably) Pokémon Winds/Waves + 3D Mario coming out next year.

Bet with Teeqoz for 2 weeks of avatar and sig control that Super Mario Odyssey would ship more than 7m on its first 2 months. The game shipped 9.07m, so I won

Tomodachi Life alone outsold all combined first party sales on PS5 and PS4 during the last quarter. The cosy market has become incredibly big, Nintendo can just pluck out a dormant cosy IP like Tomodachi Life from their shelves and it instantly sells faster than a new Resident Evil game.

Great numbers all around however i do suspect many got a switch1 before the price hike in the end of may..hence the great sales??
