Forums - Sales - Nintendo Quarterly Sales Report to 30th June: Switch 2 ships 23.68m (Outships Gamecube)

Did I miss some game announcements, or is this the first they mentioned certain games?  For example, they announced the next Pokemon and Elden Ring in this report.

Pokémon Wind / Waves was announced 5 months ago: https://youtu.be/1I4Dc2qiWIE?is=wu9LuhTidqbphEri

Elden Ring was announced before Switch 2 even launched iirc, was meant to launch in 2025 but was delayed.

Thanks.  Guess I missed the Pokemon announcement, and Elden Ring was announced so long ago I just forgot.

670k is an insane figure for S1 considering it's in year 9 with a successor out, they likely plan to discontinue in March 2028 which is about 7 more quarters, at 600k a quarter that's potentially another 5.4m.

Considering that Nintendo hopes to ship Zelda this year and their stated desire to ship more than their estimate, I feel like Nintendo is, like Sony and everyone else, supply constrained due to the AI induced RAM shortage.

Tomodachi life went crazy

NS1 shimpents 670k vs 607k sales based on vgc. (before price hike in its stronghold Japan)
So we can use this as an indication of next quart shipments.

By the way, NS1 software attach ratio is almost 10 games per console, will it hit another milestone before being phased out?

Noone is going to discuss the fact that Switch is now the best selling console in terms of software (according vgchartz).

I know I'm just one guy but I haven't bought Tomodachi Life yet and I am shocked it has sold that well already. I would've expected 5 million units or so in that timeframe. Maybe even 4 million units or under. I feel like a native Switch 2 version is possible with even more content (I know there are already some Switch 2 features when you play it on Switch 2).

Lifetime Sales Predictions

Switch: 159 million (was 73 million, then 96 million, then 113 million, then 125 million, then 144 million, then 151 million, then 156 million, then 161 million)

PS5: 116 million (was 105 million, then 115 million, then 122 million)

Xbox Series X/S: 38 million (was 60 million, then 67 million, then 57 million. then 48 million. then 40 million)

Switch 2: 120 million (was 116 million)

PS4: 120 mil (was 100 then 130 million, then 122 million) Xbox One: 51 mil (was 50 then 55 mil)

3DS: 75.5 mil (was 73, then 77 million)
