Now that we're in the twilight of Switch 1's life (man, haven't we been saying that shit for years!) how would you rate Nintendo's now last gen system, and why?

I don't have one, so I can't vote, but based on what I know about it, it's a decent system.

Although, I suspect it's first party library is not as memorable as the SNES or the Wii ones.

S-Tier. Nintendo's best system they ever made. Amazing library. Great gimmick. Some of Nintendo's best 1st party games ever.  It nailed the idea. 3rd party support was great. Indie. Japanese. Western. All things considered with it's technical limitations. Old ports. You kinda got everything. It truly appealed to everyone. Something Nintendo has not been able to do since either NES or SNES days. Some might point out some problems like Joycon drift. PS2 had a high fail rate as well. 360 RROD. PS1 had to flip it upside down to read discs sometimes. So even some of great systems of the past had some hardware problems. Prefer they don't but when a system is this good. Besides I only used Split pad Pro on mine so it was a non issue.  It's easier to forgive. Lastly the biggest turn around in gaming history. 13 million from Wii U to 156 million. Not sure what else I can say.

Bite my shiny metal cockpit!

My favorite console of all time, so an easy 10. The library of games on this console is just amazing. Also love the pro controller.

Nintendo's best platform to date. It is full of shovelware and some anti-consumer practices, but man did the Nintendo games deliver. Not to mention you had a lot of decent to fantastic third-party games to pick from too.
I think the only platform I prefer is PS4.
I'm probably going to give it a 9 because it could've had more personality in the UI, better online and such but again it delivered more than just about any platform to date.

PS5: 116 million (was 105 million, then 115 million, then 122 million)

Xbox Series X/S: 38 million (was 60 million, then 67 million, then 57 million. then 48 million. then 40 million)

Switch 2: 120 million (was 116 million)

PS4: 120 mil (was 100 then 130 million, then 122 million) Xbox One: 51 mil (was 50 then 55 mil)

I rate it D, for delightful.

Hmm… as displeased as I was with 2020 through 2022, it is undeniable that Switch still delivered a solid lineup of releases even during those years. That said, I’ll go with 10. Doesn’t get much better than this.

Man it's wild how different tastes can be isn't it? 2022 was my favourite year of Switch thanks to the sheer number of games I liked, while 2021 had my second favourite game on the console in Monster Hunter Rise.

Whats even crazier is that this year has already been fantastic for the Switch in terms of releases, Nintendo already has released two major hits, Tomodachi Life and Rhythm Heaven Groove have already sold millions. I would also imagine that Nintendo has something else for the NS1 for this holiday

I give it a 9 with only the NES being better. But the NES kind of created gaming as we know it. The Switch is basically the best a console can do without creating several new ground breaking IP that redefine the industry and sell for 4+ decades.
