我是广州人

Like with the PS5 we will be adjusting down our Switch 2 estimates. The gap between shipped and sold is way too small in the Americas and Europe. Though seems okay enough in Japan and RoW.

Shipped vs current estimates and gap before adjustments:

  • WW - 18.93M v 19.86M = 930K
  • Americas - 6.67M v 6.73M = 60K
  • Europe - 4.44M v 4.40M = 40K
  • Japan - 5.15M v 5.66M = 510K
  • RoW - 2.67M v 3.06M = 390K

Switch 1 we will likely adjust up a little bit as we want the gap to shrink from here on out.

As it is nearly 3am for me I am off to bed. Machina will work on the adjustments and I will update the monthly articles for March once I get up.

Pokemon is an unreal franchise.

Around the Network

S2 is going to finish it's first 12 months at around 21-22m.

Good results, Pokopia definitely helped massively this last quarter. Obviously as a pokemon game it was going to be big but think it surprised many with how big a success it was.

Forecast for the year is 16.5m, SW1 did 16.95m in the equivalent FY. With a big pinch of salt because Nintendo's forecasts are notoriously terrible it could end up doing better still. Price rise and no currently scheduled massive games though.

Although not sales data long time designer Tezuka is retiring in June, he directed ALTTP and has been a designing duo with Miyamoto since the NES days.

70.000 software units of the 3DS were sold last fiscal year, 10.000 of which were sold in the last quarter.

3DS titles that moved software in the last fiscal year:

Pokémon X/Y: 20.000
Pokémon Sun/Moon: 10.000
Pokémon Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire: 10.000
Animal Crossing: New Leaf: 10.000
Pokémon Ultra Sun/Ultra Moon: 20.000
Tomodachi Life: 10.000

So technically bigger than Pokopia. Really had no awareness of this franchise until last year lol

Anyway Nintendo's software is doing crazy good as always.
