GTA VI was announced with a trailer that broke a lot of records. Every single fan of the series were pumped for the new game.

But then... It got delayed. That's fine...

A new trailer appeared with a new release date. Let's go!

Delayed again...

Now, the game is releasing November 2026, assuming a new delay isn't going to happen.

The question is: Will this have some impact on the sales of the game? What do you think?

Could you please clarify: What do you mean by sales? Software sales? Holiday 2025 sales figures for hardware? Holiday 2026 sales figures for hardware? LTD estimates for software/hardware? Or something else?

Launch sales and software sales.

I think I must be hungry because recently I'm eating a lot of words...

No.
Whenever it launches, it's going to be insane.

It won't damage it at all. If anything, they're potentially pushing the console release closer to PC release. With a simultaneous console+PC launch, this game may open with 40-50 million copies sold for all I know lol. Nothing touches GTA in the AAA space.

What would damage it though is the perceived quality. They better not mess this up like Capcom with Monster Hunter Wilds.

In a perfectly stable world with no major economic issues and without major war, nothing will change from the delay. My gut feeling though is that we will have major economic issues before the November 2026 release date. For example, The AI and Crypto bubbles are likely to pop soon and cause a financial crisis again.

So, I think delaying from Nov 2025 to Nov 2026 is going to be extremely detrimental for Rockstar.

it may impact current gen console sales if it's delayed further and into post-next gen launch.
But as for the game itself? No way. GTA is in that status where it'll sell megaton numbers and smash all kinds of sales records regardless of when it releases.

No, because most people have a backlog of games to catch up on, and more good games keep releasing

Software sales will probably not be affected or only in a negligible amount.

Console sales however might be more impacted

If anything the delays will increase the launch sales. More importantly by delivering a heavily polished product post-launch sales will be higher.
