Forums - Nintendo - Kirby Star Allies is so freaking cool

Tagged games:

One of my favorite 2D platform games is Kirby. Since Kirby's Adventure on the NES, I played almost every entry in the series. Today was Star Allies day.

I don't regret it! This is exactly what I expect from a game from the pink guy. Long 2D levels, lots of platforming, moderate amount of collectibles... I'm enjoying it a lot.

Just finished the first world and half of the second world. I find the allies mechanic a bit strange at first, but I think I will come over it. In fact, I'm already having fun managing the powers from the friends.

Good job, Nintendo!

Around the Network

After six years, I have finally found somebody who relates to me on Kirby Star Allies. I had only really been interested in Nintendo for just over a year at that point in my life (when the game launched), and I was always so curious about these “classic” franchises like Kirby, Metroid, Yoshi, etc. I had never experienced them before, and the only system I ever wanted to play on back then was Switch. So, when Kirby Star Allies was revealed at E3 2017, my jaw dropped! And all the way up until launch, I was pumped!! The OST was sounding soooo good, “Buff” Dedede, seeing Kirby and Co. in HD for the first time… I felt like I finally had an opportunity to play what would be considered a “traditional” (i.e. 2D-with-generic-artstyle) Kirby.

For as tarnished this game is, I hold it very near and dear. This, Mario Tennis Aces, Pokémon LGPE, and SSBUltimate: World of Light are some of my favorite experiences of the Switch generation, despite being panned by fans.

I played this one in co-op with my girlfriend.

I feel like if I'd played it solo I would've found it too breezy and sedate, but sharing the experience was nice.

Very pretty game too, one of the nicer looking games on Switch.

Star Allies is far from my favorite Kirby game, but it definitely has its highs.

Great game, need to play it again.
