Will you also tie the knot? (More bad Forspoken puns)

In case you didn't get the really bad pun, I was talking about Forspoken.

This was a game I thought looked great, then came the backlash followed by dozens of opinions on the character, the world, the bracelet thing, the dialogue, the personality etc etc.

Part of me was influenced to a level to go from excited to bring less excited whereby I thought I will wait for a sale, but then the demo dropped.

I downloaded it and left it and today I gave it ago. Within the first 30 mins of playing it I realised how much gamers complain.

Amy Henning, the goddess of dialogue and fun characters and story is now bad. Apparently she can no longer do the job she did before.

I play the demo and have no issues with the dialogue, character or the bracelet thing.

The combat is fun and different, the world reminds me a lot of Nier, Zelda, PSO, and other games with open spaces to run and explore. The running is fun. There are plenty of encounters between points so it don't get boring and I love how the typical armour etc is different with the cape, nails and necklace.

There is so much good in this game and I feel it is getting shat on unnecessarily and possibly unfairly. It seems there are certain games that are scrutinized far greater than others. This seems to be one of them. A game which is essentially destined to be picked apart at any given opportunity which later will be one of those games where people will scream and shout about how it deserves a sequel, should have done better, Sony should have advertised it better, SE and Sony sent it to die etc.

Its a shame that so many good games get sent out to die. One of my favourite games on the PS3 was Shadows of the Damned. It was so creative and fun, and it got buried.

What were your thoughts and how did they change over time? Have you played the demo?

I will copy and paste what I posted in the article. In short it's garbage. So no.

I played and finished the demo. It's bad. Bad Fisheye lense UI. Generic art style. Runs like shit on PS5. Combat input lag. Your character is a female Bubsy (she never shuts the fuck up and all teenage edglord shit) who is edgy. All the assets feel like generic UE4 assets tho I know it's not on UE. That was awful. Enemies are mindless sponges. Textures are awful in the game. The world in the demo is big but no personality and is lifeless. The menus are a pain. Gold and brown wish fisheye. Just get anxious trying to navigate them. What idiot thought that was a good idea?

Bite my shiny metal cockpit!

It's definitely shaping up to be solid.

I just think it will unfortunately suffer because of branding...

Lack of inspiration and simply trying to be a blockbuster will hurt it. But I had more fun with the demo than I have had with a lot of recent games. I played on quality mode, visuals are good, performance is good enough, combat is distinct... Just lacked a sense of spirit.

If it honned in to it's teen Netflix feel and took place in a school or something that could be cool.

I dont have a PS5 so I didnt get to test out the demo.

But the way the MC is presented, not a fan - too edgy and the dialogue with the F bombs is so cringe - reminds me of the Beyond Good and Evil 2 reveal.

Anyways, from what I've seen of the game, its so far a FFXV without the charm of FF properties.

Hopefully the final game is better....but I'm still gonna wait for a sale before buying it - no way am I gonna be paying full price or even half price lol - I'll wait for this drop to discount bin deal.

Looks promising, I will wait for reviews

I don't like to play demos released before the game. I would appreciate the demos were release at launch...

I’m thinking of proposing to a woman I’ve been dating a year now. Never heard of the game you speak of.

I enjoyed the demo once I got the hang of the systems and the gameplay. When I first played it which was a very short period because I had to do something else, I was meh. Then I gave my older son a chance to play it because this was his most antisapated game coming out and he was like meh. After he played it, I started the demo from the beginning and started to level up moves and get the hang of the parkour as well as the combat. From there I started to enjoy what I was doing and I found the combat and mechanics not bad at all.

One thing the Demo does not do is any story. Its just dumps you into an area and let you roam around doing some basic missions and fight a couple bosses. I really can not determine from that demo how well the complete game will be but I will say with some tweaks things could really improve. First is to give more feedback to your attacks. I know since you are using magic its not like a melee game but it would still go a long way in making your character combat feel more well impactful. It seems the developers already patched the demo to cut down on the chatter between the character and the bracelet. The problem with the chatter is that unlike GOD of War series it does not move the story or the characters instead its just a bunch of bickering which even in real life gets annoying fast.

The engine of the game feels like they just reused FF engine and did not update it for the PS5. You would think a PS5 exclusive would have better looking graphics closure to Horizon but that is not the case. Its not bad, it just does not punch up to what the expectation would be for a PS5 open world exclusive at this time.

Is it really input lag? It felt like its more of the way the magic is designed. Its like when you click it loads the magic and releases it when you let go of the button.
I mean I dont like it either but it seems to me that this is the way it should function.
I really like the character but it feels like it gets annoying super fast when all they constantly do is complain about each other and everything in the world. Though I would guess there hast to be some sort of change over time. Like with Joel and Ellie, that get closer to beeing a family over the game.

Its not input lag, its the fact that your magic allows you to hold down the button to do a different attack.  I would say that the feel of the triggers is the problem, way to stiff, the need to tone it down a notch and it would be fine.  Hopefully they get it right when the game release.
