The game looks much better using the mClassic (a graphic processor)

Let's say it looks a tiny bit better.

The difference wil also vary depending on the scaler quality of your TV (or monitor).

If your TV has already a good scaler, the differences will be very small, if your TV has a shitty scaler, the differences will be bigger.

I play my Switch mainly in handheld mode, so that mClassic or a mCable wouldn't help me there. If I were still more into retro gaming, I'll probably get the mClassic, but most of the time I play in higher resolutions than the mClassic or mCable can handle (PC, PS4 Pro and Xbox One X).

I play console games on my third monitor (since I play more on my computer), so I don't know how the witcher would be on my 27-inch monitor.

PS: I don't plan to buy since I have the same game on steam.

I am shocked they could port it. And I think the game is meh. I played it on the ps4 and didn't care for it.

Looks horrible.
But I guess thats what you get for sticking to only one company. Gotta expand your horizons people.

Obviously opinions are going to vary quite a bit on a subject like this. I think as long as graphics don't detract from the gameplay it's fine. Personally, i thought the original looked kinda crappy(exception being some of the bosses. Some of those were GREAT!). But i feel like i have some bias because i felt the controls didn't feel smooth during combat. I feel like if it doesn't feel smooth, my brain interprets the animations as wrong. Without actually playing the switch version though i think the visuals are fine (except for geralt's glitchy shadow sometimes). Definitely inferior to the console only versions, but i don't think it detracts from the gameplay from what i've seen. Again i do have a little bias though. I also think art style will always trump graphical fidelity. For example i think darksiders on the 360 or even windwaker on the gamecube looks better than any of the witcher games, but that's because of the art design choices and not the fps or resolution . That's just me though. I'm a big fan of open world action/adventure games like shadow of mordor/war & zelda botw so i may give this another shot next year after i get through luigi's mansion and darksiders 2 this year. Can't wait for biomutant next year too. Quick side note in case anyone's curious why i only play these games on switch. I just don't have the same amount of time to game as i used to. The switch is portable enough that i can hook it up to a monitor in my office at work. I play for like hours every friday. Might try to find the space for my ps4 at some point though. I've had horizon 0 dawn since launch and haven't touched it :(

nice to see i wasn't the only one.  I coudn't take 2 steps without hearing someone praising this game at the store i where i worked when it released.  Played it for 2-3 hours and was not feelin it.  I may give it another go though.  I found sometimes if i power through the beginning of a game i end up really liking it the farther in i get. And i never got to any of the really gnarly looking bosses i've seen screenshots of.

I'll have a better answer once I've played it myself 25 hours from now, but from all the footage and such shown so far, I think it's an excellent port.

Being a 30fps open world game that pushes even PS4 and Xbox One, a Switch version could've ended up looking like ARK in the wrong hands.

What we have instead appears to be a remarkable conversion well beyond what I personally would have thought possible before it was revealed. Heck, when it was leaked, I was one of those folks who was like "nah, this is fake, no way a game that demanding is coming to Switch."

Graphical cutbacks never stopped me enjoying Doom 2016 on Switch or the COD games on Wii, so I see no reason why they'd stop me enjoying Witcher 3.

Yeah, I have often considered giving it another go.  Given how much praise the game gets.  It never clicked with me.  I found the battle system just to be meh.  It never clicked with me for some reason.

I would recommend trying again the battle system isn't perfect but I enjoyed the aspect of applying oils to my weapons and using certain potions and spells to weaken enemies. But saying that the best aspects of the witcher 3 are the story/side missions and lore of the world.(but I may be  biased as I love dark fantasy stuff) If you still don't like it  it's no biggie, not every game is liked by everyone

They tried.
