Forums - Sony Discussion - Would you buy a PS4 Portable ?

I already have a Switch.

Nope, Sony has totally lost ground on the portable market with their last hardware, the PS Vita, so there is no need for a Ps4 Portable, and also it is unfeasible technically at the moment.

Maybe there could be space for a Ps5 streaming-only handheld (based on PsNow) in the future.. but we will see.

Nope. Gaming on the go sucks. I need my own space and proper equipment to immerse myself into the game. Besides, when I'm on the go, I'm doing something that doesn't allow or call for gaming anyways.

Hell no, a hybrid version would be more worthwhile, but even then I wouldn't upgrade to it. If the PS5 launched with a hybrid model as well for $100 more I may consider it, but that amount of power in a hybrid system just isn't viable, and if it was it'd cost a hell of a lot more than $100 extra.

Portability is overrated.

God bless You.

My Total Sales prediction for PS4 by the end of 2021: 110m+

When PS4 will hit 100m consoles sold: Before Christmas 2019

A 65:35 ratio ain't "destroying", please stop overexaggerating!

The PSP with over 80 million units wasn't "destroyed", the Xbox 360 with over 80 million units wasn't "destroyed" and the PS3 with over 80 million units wasn't "destroyed"... they just weren't first place.

Remember about psp: Hardware - 80 million. Software - only 2 games of it that sold over 5 million, both are GTA, and none psp game could reach 10 million sold units. For a system that sold a lot, the sales number of it's games is quite pathetic

Remember about PSP: more than 300 million games sold. Not too bad for a "destroyed" handheld.

No. The little need for portable gaming i have is satisfied by a GPD.

Hunting Season is done...

Not really. Almost all my PS4 games are physical, so I can't use them on a PS4 portable device. Also the device would melt. If the current PS4 and PS4 Pro can get so hot and the fan taking off like a jet, then what makes you think Sony will make it better on this? And don't get me started on the storage. Even 1 TB isn't enough for space with how much space PS4 games take up.

I would

I probably would, but I don't think it would be a good market for them.
