Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Nba2k19 is 3 dollars on the eshop

Tagged games:

Lots of sales going up in the us eshop but one stand out crazy reduction is the 95% off NBA 2k19 it's just 3 dollars right now if you've any interest in the game you can't really go wrong with that price.

They really want people into the microtransactions, don't they? just go Free to Play.

Also, are there sales in the european eShop?

You know it deserves the GOTY.

Damn, and here I thought I was lucky for buying it for 14 dollars.

Cool but don't care for sports games.

Shame its file size is so huge, but it's worth clearing space for $3. Crazy price. Guess they want them microtransactions.

No, in Europe this version is marked down to 29.99 rather than 2.99, also in the US the digital deluxe version is 40 while the standard version is marked down to 3dollars, it's fairly clearly a mistake in the US shop, it's free to create an account in the different regions and there is a great site called PC game supply where you can buy eshop cards from the different regions. Also when making a US account you wanna make it in a state where there is no tax on games, I can find the address I used if you want or you can google it.

my thoughts exactly on this really, I mean the game on amazon is £30 https://www.amazon.co.uk/2K-Games-222634-Nintendo-Switch/dp/B07DKGXLSK/ref=sr_1_1?crid=2JP6GIKYXI4VH&keywords=nba%2B2k19%2Bswitch&qid=1560311080&s=gateway&sprefix=nba%2B2k19%2Bswi%2Caps%2C123&sr=8-1&th=1 which is almost $40

Also it's a 82% rating on Meta and was reduced from around the $60 mark, https://www.metacritic.com/game/switch/nba-2k19 it's just such a crazy reduction to the point where it's the cost of a cup of tea from a cafe for what is meant to be a AAA sports title.

dear lord the game comes in at a fairly crazy 38gb or so when it's fully downloaded and updated, keep this in mind if you are buying this based on the price being that of a little indie game.... it will likely be the largest game on your Switch (I think it's the biggest one around)

It is finals time, so kind of in bball mood. Usually sales on sports games are in off season.

But even though I feel I could get $3 worth of entertainment out of this game easy, no way am I going to download this 40gb game. Way too big a download for what will entail a few hours of fun before I get annoyed by micro's

Didn't they make this game have like some BS huge insane long grind to get your character good in order to entice you to pay to win basically?

I've no idea about the longer playing of the game but I took a look at the "story" mode and was kinda overwhelmed with the amount of things to do in it so far (also by the fact that you get shipped off to Japan or so to play because you aint big enough for US bball and the game includes a whole TV commentary in "asian" which you can't seem to turn off) but going back to quick games and such I have to say it's one beautiful looking and running game on the Switch, really they didn't skimp on anything which might have saved space including crazy tv show presentations from virtua Shaq and co talking before even exhibition matches and a huge rap soundtrack that I would happily have not downloaded!

The same as the other 2k game I've played on the Switch though in wwe2k18 this is the second title I've seen on the console that doesn't just not support taking videos... but also prevents the user from taking screenshots of gameplay, which is a shame because I was going to cap a few pics of how good it does actually look to message a mate but alas I can't make my own screenshots!

I honestly haven't played a basketball game since the gamecube NBA titles which included the Mario characters in them and I had great fun with this game for about 3 hours today, there's a lot of EULA to wad through as well as setting up an online profile to allow you download even more updates in game once the whole title has downloaded and updated on the main system but still... if you were a fan of Basketball this would be a shame to miss out on for the cost (providing you have a decent size SD card that can handle the 35+GB's required for it.

I would say.... think about it like this, the game normally costs 60e and a 256GB micro SD on Amazon costs around 55e https://www.amazon.co.uk/Samsung-Mobile-UK-MicroSD-Adapter/dp/B06XFS5657/ref=pd_sbs_147_6/262-7149599-5171361?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B06XFS5657&pd_rd_r=d0b2c076-8e0f-11e9-bf84-e5343fa59690&pd_rd_w=rFloz&pd_rd_wg=Ryrvo&pf_rd_p=18edf98b-139a-41ee-bb40-d725dd59d1d3&pf_rd_r=47QY12HPVAA432J39V0P&psc=1&refRID=47QY12HPVAA432J39V0P so you could technically buy this game on the eshop for 3e and that memory card for your switch and still be saving on the original game cost as well as having 200GB of storage added to your switch in the purchase.
