And since the Wiimote + Nunchuk is my current favourite controller setup, I honestly couldn't have asked for a better interface for the Switch. I love the hardware. I love the software. It's just that price tag and the online paywall I'm not a fan of.

The console's pricetag isn't unreasonable for what the console does. The rest of the pricing (accessories, paid online), I agree with you. But when it comes to paid online, I'll reserve judgment for when they reveal what will be included with the subscription, and how much it will cost per year.

I mean for me personally, I can afford one if I really want one. It's more that, as I said above, I worry the price will mean poor sales and subsequently poor support.

Well the general temperature of things points to a healthy enough launch window, I think that E3 will be an important juncture.  They'll have to show substantial support for its future coming from somewhere.  There are some good signs, some bad signs.  It's hard to judge the software situation since the launch date actively discourages 3rd parties to show up.  So we'll see what happens.

Yeah, that's one of the great things about the Switch - it's just so versatile. With just the console and the Joy-Cons, you can have games that are controlled through traditional controls, motion controls (both gyro-based and heavy motion stuff) and touch controls (including multi-touch this time). That, and how they can either fit around the screen, be taken off for use one in each hand as with the Wiimote+Nunchuk or as a more regular-ish controller with the Grip, and obviously even be used one each for multiplayer.

It's almost insane how much they can do - hell they're probably even going to be good (great?) controllers for VR if Nintendo ever decides to do something on that front.

Oh assuming the motion controls are fairly high precision they would be fantastic for VR given they are small, have plenty of inputs, and the HD rumble would be fantastic for it.

X2 looks like they put the original engine functioning on the Wii U, similar to TWWHD. It is pretty believable to see them releasing in 2017.

Even with engine development taken care of, it would be unusual for a HD open world game to be completed in two years.

We don't know it is open world. Unless I'm missing something.

Proud to be the first cool Nintendo fan ever

Number ONE Zelda fan in the Universe

DKCTF didn't move consoles

Prediction: No Zelda HD for Wii U, quietly moved to the succesor

Predictions for Nintendo NX and Mobile

Depends on what you mean by open world.  If you consider Xenoblade to be open world, then it seems exceedingly likely based on the trailer and what we've seen from the franchise that this will be open world as well.

None..........yet.

Well, considering I've always been a bigger Mario than a Zelda fan - that'd be Mario Odyssey

Xenoblade 2 shoud also be amazing.

And I'm actually very intrigued by what I've seen so far from Octopath Traveller, despite being only in the form of a 45 second trailer so far. I just love the art style, and it takes me back to those 16 bit RPGs, which are my favorite era of JRPGs.

Xenoblade 2 at this point with Mario Odyssey in a close second. Shout outs also to No More Heroes 3 but we don't have enough information on it for me to get too excited

Mario Odyssey is #1 for now, but Fire Emblem will likely take its place if we get actual information about it.
