With just the console and the Joy-Cons, you can have games that are controlled through traditional controls, motion controls (both gyro-based and heavy motion stuff) and touch controls (including multi-touch this time). That, and how they can either fit around the screen, be taken off for use one in each hand as with the Wiimote+Nunchuk or as a more regular-ish controller with the Grip, and obviously even be used one each for multiplayer. It's almost insane how much they can do - hell they're probably even going to be good (great?) controllers for VR if Nintendo ever decides to do something on that front. |
Oh assuming the motion controls are fairly high precision they would be fantastic for VR given they are small, have plenty of inputs, and the HD rumble would be fantastic for it.
