Can Splat2oon become a 10mil Seller?

Well Splatoon for WiiU isnt doing horrible #s despite wiiu's horrible Install base (10mil). Its currently at 2.42mil on it for a new ip, Sold through in japan just hit 1mil (includes digital). It should hit between 3.2mil-4mil by end of year in sales.

With that splatoon can easily be 3.5mil-5mil seller. (not to shabby eh?)

That said if Splat2oon were to release on the NX within 2 years of its launch, i believe it'll have a good chance at being a 10mil seller (or at least close to it). This going by a somewhat successful launch of NX and its both HH/HC (like we all believe).

Thoughts?

Key Notes...

*Successful Platform (like 30mil+)

*Japan makes it the new Dragon Quest/MH/etc Tier Franchise. Hell its 1mil on WiiU sold

*Huge Single Player Campaign (first one is very good, but imagine if they actually did a heavy focus on it! o.O)

It will depend of the NX's total userbase. The next Splatoon will have even better legs, now that has become a proven IP, but it will be impossible without 60+ million NX users.

of course, if nintendo makes a NX version.

Ofcourse it does! Splatoon is one of the hottest Nintendo games out there! If the NX is successfull like the Wii (weekly sales wise) it WILL be a 10 Mill hit! To me Splatoon is like the 1st Super Smash Bros back in the late 90s. Nintendo didn't know it was going to be a successful hit and the franchise grew alot greater (sales wise) in the future

No, 3DS has an install base of 55m and yet there are only 3 10m+ games. You gotta remember the larger an install base gets the smaller the attach rate is likely to be. For Splatoon to sell 10m it would need to be on a console that sells as well as say the Wii did.
Looking at Nintendo's 10m+ sellers its basically just Mario and Pokemon, well then theres the Wii/DS era casual games . For Splatoon to become such a franchise it needs to find a large following in the younger generation like Mario and Pokemon did to begin with. I just dont feel Nintendo has that kind of pull anymore.

It all depends on NX. I think the NX will sell 60m so atmost splatoon 2 will sell 6-7m but thats just me

depends on how successfull nx is.
If its as successfull as wii, sure. Many games sold in that range on wii.

How about we wait until NX comes out so that we know what it is and see how it's doinh.
Then when the actual sequel is announced so we can make some solid predictions based on actual footage before we throw around these bold predictions.

If NX sells at least 30 million, yes, it will sell > 10 million.
If we will see some like 50 million, more like 12-15 million.

Last, this is most likely not gonna happen, but if NX sells at Wii levels ( 100,000,000 ) Splatoon should sells  25-30 million.
( Almost Mario Kart 6 level )

I think a successor would have a much better chance, provided the user base grows.
