So the big question is....after your experience are you tempted to pick one up??? :)

Totally. Getting on either this summer or holiday

Good man. Make sure to make a thread when you do. There are tons of people who will congratulate you. On subject the Mario Kart stuff is jaw dropping. I first played it with my cousins. I brought my Wii U up and we played it non stop. Our jaws were on the ground on most of those levels. Its a very beautiful game.

Edit: this was on my friends console lol

The good:

Mario kart is even better looking in real life. Just wow! Had a lot of fun with it.

Smash is also incredibly fun. Had a huge line up of characters.

The pro controller is pretty darn comfortable!

Tablet is also pretty comfy.

The bad :The items in smash u seem over powered in comparison to melee and 64 ( never played brawl) though. Having the bat and the hammer was good enough for strong items imo but now i feel like its to many. This might be due to me being unfamiliar with the items however, or im just forgetting how useful the items were in melee because its been so long.

Although the tablet is pretty comfy the handles are whatever they are on the back is rather annoying. When i try to grip them like a regular grip its just awkward (maybe its just me lol). so i prefer just keeping the rest of my hand flat on the back.

So yeah there isnt much thats bad. Really enjoyed it and think its a great console!

The handles do feel natural after a while of use, the same way an Xbox 360 controller and button layout (ABXand Y are all backwards) seemed weird after mostly using a Gamecube.

You should buy a Wii U if you like it. My friend has one and I tried to play zombiU/mass effect 3. The gamepad and pro controller are both just too awkward for me. The placement of the analog sticks and buttons is reversed compared to the other console controllers that I'm very used to.

Glad to hear you enjoyed it, but I will be honest with you. If you're looking for a console to play mostly by yourself and you don't have buddies over a lot... the Wii U kind of loses a bit of its charm. While it is an excellent console(I love mine a lot and use almost daily) and does have some excellent single player experiences, it definitely shines and is a ton more fun with local multiplayer.

That being said, go buy one already! Even if you don't appreciate it fully now, in 5-10 years you'll be super happy you have it imo.

I'm betting that its a collectors item and a full Wii U library will be worth tons of cash. Especially if you include Amiibos.

Items never bother me when I play Smash WiiU to be perfectly honest.

The handles on the back are a godsend for playing VC games though. It's like gripping a more comfortable larger NES controller.

I agree with you, the Gamepad is confortable for a short gaming session but can be irritating with time. I consider buying a pro controller but they are very expensive where I live
