Very sad considering Apple's products all have far better alternatives... the public is just idiotic and is buying them for the design rather than their uses.

Pretty good accomplishment but there is big chance that this is just temporarily situation because imo MS has a lot more reliable income than apple. MS could release shitty OS and still make billions of dollars because they have monopoly in OS market. Apple releases shitty product and their value will drop like a rock. it's all about brand in Apple's case.

Good for Apple. I too think that their products are worth more than they should but because people choose to buy them doesn't upset me as much as some, as a matter of fact it doesn't bother me at all.

If people choose to buy apple products it's up to them, it's their money, they work for it and they can do what the hell they want with it, what's it to do with anyone else? I don't care if everyone started buying $50,000 ipads.

Apple are now masters of how to make money from a tiny market share. Because of the iphones popularity some people think it has a huge market share, last time I checked it was less than 1.5% but accounted for ~25% of all cell phone profits, behind Nokia which has a 49% marketshare and about the same percent of profits.

If Apple eventually gets a relatively small 10%-15% of the worldwide computer sales their profits will be closer to MS if windows had the remaining 85%-90%, due to the huge margins on their hardware.

No surprise here, MS has been surviving for years on its 2 old cash cows (MS and office). Everything else they tried basically failed and lost money. They've been heading south for years...

Google and Apple are now the IT leaders MS once was. Like Nintendo and Sony are the kings of video games.

You got the point, the general population, they want simple, intuitive devices, without a lot of depth - accessibility over capability.
