If I had to guess, it's because it comes off as an attempt at damage controlling the news on this thread by boosting up the PS4 (pointing out their games coming out) while shitting on the Switch (saying the Switch has no games this year), which is the type of thing that instigates petty console war arguments.  It seems that when fans of other platforms see news like this, they get shaken up based on how they typically pile on these threads and try to play things down.

What Sony fans have to understand is that when a lot of Nintendo fans see this thread, even though the devs were comparing sales to the PS4 version, we're (at least I am) looking at it through the perspective that a non-casual 3rd party game is doing well on the Switch.  Why that matters is that for decades, Nintendo fans have always been told that 3rd parties don't sell well on the Switch and that the only games that sell well are exclusives, casual games, shovelware and baby games.  So when a 3rd party multiplat that appeals to core gamers sells well, regardless of whether they're indies or AAA titles, it gives a sense of positivity that things are going in the right direction for the Switch.

Damage controlling? There's no reason to buy Dead Cells on PS4 when there are high profile games coming out in the same window. I was merely saying what I think is the reason for this 4 to 1 ratio of sales. The Switch has had a games drought this year and this is why they are hungry for any game that releases for the Switch, there are not many other choices. Like it'd be a totally different story if say Mario Tennis or Smash released within a few weeks of Dead Cells, I highly doubt the game's sales would have been as high it is.

Plus Dead Cells or indies, in general, are basically asking for funerals when released on console. There are very few indie games that escape this plight. Also, I have an Xbox and a Switch. You could call me an Xbox fan. MK8 is all I played and will probably ever play on the Switch.

You got it wrong. As another thread states, most Switch owners already have another console. So taking your argument they would skip Dead Cells altogether and go for said high profile games on their PS4 or XBox One. But they don't do it, because you peg the users wrong. Actually these are people that WANT to play Dead Cells (and want it more than maybe God of Wars). And now they ask themself on which of their platforms. Say they have PC, PS4 and Switch, it is easy to see why they chose to buy this game on Switch. Using docked mode, the game looks and plays exactly the same as on PS4 or PC, but undocked they can play it on the go, something they can't with PS4 or PC. So basically they have added value to the game they want to play if they buy it on Switch. And that there is the reason. If they picked up the game for boredom because no releases, they would just take a PS4 game instead.
