Forums - Sony Discussion - Playstation Home (a dud?)

I would use Home if:

-When you click it from the XMB it takes you RIGHT into the game.

-Improved servers, less lagy rooms.

-Game Launching for EVERY game, have maybe a game launching center. So you can view the game launching games and join one whereever you are in Home, but the gamelaunching room will help you find people to play with.

- Trophy support. Some how, I want people to be able to view my trophies since I have alot. I want to show off some of my harder ones like this one from Killz2.

Yeah, the loading times are way too long. direct launching from the XMB would be awesome.

I think Home could be OK, but I have been bored most of the time. Tried it again a few weeks ago and quite after 10 minutes.

It is actually free in the sense that you don't have to pay for anything.
You aren't forced to use it.
If you don't like it, leave it be.

^ I'd spit out a bad cup of tea whether it was free or not.

The fact that something is "free" (which it's not) doesn't automatically mean that it's good.

to your taste's its a bad cup of tea, and while i think it does not matter what other people who may not think so in their Opinion matter's to you. For you you do not think Home is good and I respect your Opinion on that matter. but people will disagree with you on the Home service and people agree to disagree all the time such as this.

^ If someone took a shit in a cup of tea, I think 99.99% of the population would agree that it's a bad cup of tea, and 99.99% of the population would refuse to drink it.

And that's what Home is. Home is the metaphorical shit in an otherwise good cup of tea (PS3).

HOME has really evolved over time, and quite well. Before, I would have said it needed MUCH more work. Now, I love it!

yea I also think that the Home service has grown quite a bit since its beta launch, with the number of places that Sony and other companies have added to home show's its an ever growing enviroment. its not as static as the PS2 network used to be and is quite an improvement over the old ps2 network. I enjoy seeing what new areas they add and seeing what new game's thay add inside home.

for a Free bonus added for use its pretty good for Me and since there's growth with new area's added and new thing's to do inside of Home I think its pretty cool.

I can't agree to disagree on this, because I seriously feel that this was a massive waste of money on Sony's behalf.

And although it could be making a profit, now (nobody knows, - it was in development for a large amount of time, and requires quite an extensive architecture - also, Sony's been quite quiet on numbers since that $1,000,000 in a week - could have died quickly), there's no denying that if that money had been invested elsewhere, it could have been returning more of a profit for Sony.

Its still in "Beta" mode, i think.

Anyay, what more do you want for free?

Something good.

Just because you dont think its good, doesnt mean it isnt.

You didn't HAVE to download it and you dont HAVE to go on it, so i dont see the problem.

Its an optional, free service what a lot of people like to use.
