Around the Network

I dont buy Apple products because im not stupid enough for them.

Go HP sales :D I found their laptops reliable, and the same can be told about Toshiba and Sony :D

As much as I cant stand MS, I have to admit, PC is a far better solution then MAC, and the fact is that Apple are pouring out massive ammounts of overpriced junk... OK, junk might be a tad to extreme, but lets face it, PC won the war for a reason: its much cheaper and when it comes to program compatibility is far superior

Vote the Mayor for Mayor!

I think this has to be more marketing spin from MS. I just can't see anyone from Apple calling them about this.

Now if they did, in all fairness the prices quoted in MS's ads are a hundred or two off since they lowered their prices.

Also, certainly most PCs are cheaper but there are some competitive areas in Apple's line. Additionally, some of their proprietary technology (both hardware and software) is pretty impressive. My girlfriend has a White iMac and a 17" Macbook Pro and honestly they run like tanks. I don't think I have ever had to do anything to them at all.

If you are looking for a gaming rig, need to use a proprietary software (AutoCAD anyone?), or just can't spend the money Macs probably aren't for you. With that said, it is really nice not to have to worry about any live Viruses/Malware (only a few trojan horses) and the terrible Windows registry system (are they going to finally fix this with Windows 7?). It is also nice that Apples defrag small files on the fly and most apps are self contained so you just delete them and the preference files.

With that said, I'm typing this from a Lenovo laptop because it was cheaper than a MBP and I couldn't spare the extra expense. Certainly though, the hardware design is pretty drool worthy on Macbook Pros, Macbook Airs, and Mac Pros. Also, I would love to be able to use Apple's iLife Suite in Windows as it is pretty awesome and Final Cut Pro and Logic are nice software as well.

I really don't understand all the hate. There is a very strong case that Apple computers are overpriced but that doesn't mean they aren't nice or don't have value for people who don't care about the extra money. Do you people own iPhones or iPods and complain because they are more expensive for what they do than the competition?
