I wonder how many folks on the internet avoid seeing those amazing spoiler videos? hmm
The argument has merit. I don't need to see a sig for a game I already beat, like inFAMOUS. I am in favor of a ban on all sigs with GIFs of games I already beat.
But Okey Dokey's is really funny and besides, you could get the same thing from pictures. If there is an awesome boss in a game that was in a trailer you haven't seen and you see it in a signature image and think, wow that's a cool character. Then when you play the game and the anticipation is rising as you come up to a boss and you realize it is the same character, the anticipation is killed. You are like, oh its him.
It could even be dulled if it is a word description. So the best way to limit spoilers in all cases is to limit signatures to just words and only to 4 word phrases. That's really silly in today's world.
The reason I don't like "most" gifs is that they entrance me into watching the same thing over and over again when I have many other things that I should be and could be doing.
wasn't okey's previous sig the "don't fuck with kratos mmk?" bit with the whole ripping off the head? :p we haven't forgotten.
Still, i doubt a 4 second animation is going to spoil a game. The gifs are as informing as looking at the boxart.
It's not a spoiler. It's in a trailer. Thus, it's common knowledge.
And why would you want to ban all gifs? What if somebody wants to post a gif of Mario break dancing? Is that a Super Mario Galaxy 2 spoiler? What if somebody wants a Killzone 2 gif? Is that a spoiler?

Argh, I had to spoiler tag it! I can't bear to think of somebody whose enjoyment of WipEout HD would be ruined by them knowing the ending!
