I am really surprised that the 360 looks on target to beat the PS3 this year, I was really just wrong on how this was going to play out. That $199 price target is much more powerful than I had imagined.

Someone sees the logic. Also you have to wonder if the price cut will bring the PS3 above the 360 or just to parity. If it sells even with the 360 then it's game over for Sony because they will never catch up.

Unless something terrible happens to the 360, the 360 should outsell the PS3. Microsoft really got their shit together with the price cut and perfect timing.
Now they just need to revel a huge line up this year so gamers wont buy a 360 AND a PS3.
wow one more week i never thought it would be this quick. i had always felt it would be the week before christmas if the 360 passed the ps3 for the year. it will be interesting to see if the dark night on the week of the 8th causes a spike in ps3 sales

What the hell happened to 2008? You know, I'm fairly sure that Sony fans will say every year is the year of the PS3 until it suddenly becomes the year of the PS4. The PS3 is a sad shadow of the PS2. No single year can turn that around at this point. Sony, with their Blu-Ray agenda and stingy pricing has, with the help of Nintendo and Microsoft, brought about the largest shift of power in the videogame industry, ever.

Ahh the day HDDVD died it ensured that PS3 would have a 3-4 year longer lifespan then 360. So they come up even for 2008? Coming up even is not good news for MS. Not when you are half the price of your closest competitor. Next thing you know the'll be giving away 360's in happymeals just to keep their install base ahead. So you think 360 will go down to $100 when PS3 drops price in march? That's the only way 360 will be able to compete with a $300 PS3.

The ps3 may start outselling the 360 again when it gets its price-cut. The difference between the 360 and the ps3 is that the 360 is already many millions ahead of the ps3, therefore the ps3 being outsold is more damaging to sony then the 360 being outsold by the ps3 is to microsoft as the 360 has that buffer to lean on.

Wow are you serious? The 360 has only been half the price for a few months and thats the cheapest model might I add.
