Nevertheless, Octopath Traveler, hopefully, can be a catalyst for more original AA-AAA games coming to the Switch. A successful Switch game does not have to be a port or an indie.

There were no shortages of Octopath in the US, the game just suffered what other rpgs go thru, 90+% drops from their debuts.

Eh, when's the last time you said something was falling off a cliff? :P

All jokes aside, its still really impressive of what a new JRPG IP has been able to do in this current gaming climate.

switch audience has been eating up old school retro looking games so its not a surprise  to me, it did good but thats the top for what a third party seitch game can do 1-1.5 million.

Thank you for doing these NPD threads rick. Would you (and whoever else doing NPD threads) please consider including an NPD archive in future NPD OPs?

In the past, it was always easy and quick to find all numbers thanks to Boutros' NPD threads archive included in OP of every single NPD thread.

Havent heard that the Rabbids title crossed 2 million? Octopath is likely to get there aswell
