DOOM Switch doesn't use Unreal engine.

So what does it use?

idTech obviously. Doom always was the title presenting idTech.

Totally was not expecting a Switch version. Wow.

Sooo...

Does that mean the character still to unveil for Super Smash Bros is the doomed Space Marine?

I'm kinda impressed by this showing. The original Doom was pretty devoid of colors and details, this in difference looks rich. And I still recognize the original monsters. Nicely done.

It uses some custom engine specifically built for Switch, which there isn't a name for.

I would think porting Doom 2016 for example simply involved downscaling things from the console/pc version of the game. Or maybe the custom engine is just a downscaled version of the console Doom engine...

Dunno, whatever. As long as it works, who cares?

Its not like I care either, but I was just trying to clear misunderstanding.

Bet with Intrinsic:

The Switch will outsell 3DS (based on VGchartz numbers), according to me, while Intrinsic thinks the opposite will hold true. One month avatar control for the loser's avatar.

Well you have my thanks!

If this is going to be a big AAA gen 8 title releasing on Switch day and date as the other platforms, that's uncanny. Definitely going to supporting a move like this.

Insane. I guess they are happy with sales on Switch in general. I think releasing the game same date or atleast close to it will give a big chance to the Switch version to actually sell with the promo and stuff.

Great another horrible port for the switch
