Hints:

#38: An alternate history WW2, that sprung into its own sub-series in this famous RTS franchise.

#37: An entry into a classic NES platformer series that introduced a charged version of the main characters weapon into the series.

#36 A licensed superhero game, the second in its series. Expanded upon its predecessor by moving the game from an island into a walled section of a famous comic book city.

38: Command and Conquer Red Alert. Not sure if 1 or 2.

37:  Not sure so I will say Super mario bros 2

36: Batman Arkham City.

38 and 36 are correct, 37 is not. 38 is the first Red Alert.

Game #38

Hint 1: A pirate and his moneky!

Hint 2: The monkey can apparently fly.

Zack and Wiki

As guessed by Cerebralbore, my next game is Zack&Wiki.

Zack&Wiki is an adventure game with - what else - pirates. Because pirates are the best. This is basically an usual adventure game, you have to solve puzzles to advance the story. The things special are the use of the Wiimote and the humour. You use items in this game by moving the Wiimote like you would move the object in question.

Also you have Wiki that strange flying monkey that turns into a bell if you shake the Wiimote and turns creatures into useful items. Every pirate needs such a companion. Wiki is actuallythe one commenting everything you do and has sometimes a strange view on things.

Well, what to say much, it is a lot of fun to play. Actually, writing about it and searching screenshot and video makes me want to play it again. Let's look if my Wiimote has a working battery in it...

Sadly the game was cursed with bad sales. This pretty much makes a sequel or even a remake (Switch has Joycons that would work too) very unlikely.

This is always a game I wanted to come back to. I remember it being great fun with clever motion based puzzles and by now I've forgotten all the solutions to the puzzles which means I could almost get the same experience as 10 years ago.

I haven't played No More Heroes, but Zack and Wiki has the best motion controls out of all the Wii games I've played.

While I agree that Zack&Wiki has implemented motion controls quite well, don't you forget Wii Sports?

The only thing that worked well in Wii Sports was Bowling. Boxing and Tennis wasn't that good. Baseball was ok.

Some Indiana Jones game for sure, but I don't know which one is good.

Resident Evil: Revelations

  • Nintendo 3DS
  • 2012
  • Survival Horror
  • Capcom

A Nintendo system where the best game on it is not from a first party, not developed in-house by Nintendo themselves, that's a rare occurrence. The 3DS handheld however is such a system. 'Resident Evil: Revelations' takes the system to the next level pushing visuals that didn't seem possible.

The game is a return to the series' roots, taking place in dark, abandoned and confined spaces of a cruise ship with the gameplay scale tipped more towards the horror aspect once again. Being a survival horror game, the game has it's fair share of tense moments and a lot of scares. Like much of the series, there's a real B-movie story in the game, which is quite entertaining and keeps you going. This story is presented in small episodes, which are perfect for shorter handheld gaming sessions.

The game's design still allows itself to mix things up and every now and then, a faster paced, more action oriented section takes place. Progression is as such that when the player gets further into the game, more of the ship becomes accessible due to the player unlocking new areas in each 'Episode', the game's variant on traditional levels presented as if it was a television-series. It's a shame the second game didn't make it to the 3DS for some reason, but that just meant I had to get a PlayStation Vita for it.
