It’s not Nintendo’s job to promote and sell 3rd party games. When they are more eager to support a PS portable more than the Switch, you know something’s wrong. Also, during its early days, the PS3 failed miserably at every single “test” yet everyone kept supporting the system. Their bond with Sony that strong?

If it isn't the job of Nintendo to create an environement that attracts 3rd parties than you already know where they failed so stop complaining.

@routsiunmanman It is Nintendo's job to promote third party games if they want successful third party games on their platform. Ever wonder why Nintendo hasn't had good third party support since the SNES and MS and Sony have been doing fine on that front? So the answer is yes, their bond with Sony was that strong because Sony made a place for third party publishers to thrive. When Sony succeeds, third parties benefit. Don't like it? Too goddamn bad. It's way of the world. If that's your attitude, fine. Just don't complain about third party support on Nintendo consoles.

Isn't that the game that recently had only ten players online simultaneously?

kind of hilarious that he's seriously suggesting that there's any demand for Lawbreakers to go to other platforms at this point... last time I checked the game was at like an average of 100 concurrent players on PC.... yikes

Oddly enough, that’s never the case with Microsoft or Sony.

Have all 3rd parties come to PS1? Or to Xbox og? Does all 3rd party goes to Xbox 1?

No, they all had to prove theirselves at some point. For your luck Nintendo track record on 3rd party support/sales have been bad for like 4 or more generations, since they left their dictatorship against 3rd parties... so yes, they will evaluate the risk and profit before commiting with Nintendo. Very basic actually.

if we're being realistic Nintendo does actually step up to the plate and bat for good third party games quite often. Especially with the likes of Capcom, I know Nintendo has often handled the marketing end of things almost exclusively and is a big part of why that franchise got so much attention on their platform from users. After Nintendo posted that killer dev insider video on the Switch "Doom" port the other day, the game also skyrocketed up into the top 50 or so best seller video game list on Amazon.

Nintendo has proven themselves with third parties but in the end it requires a GOOD effort port and working with them. Bethesda is showing exactly how to do that. If you pull an EA and just sort of sloppily throw a game onto a Nintendo platform without caring (like Madden or CoD (Activisonbutstill) in the past) then there's no reason to expect something to do well. BOTH the platform holder and the third party dev need to put work in

anyway sort of a moot point though because no one really wants Lawbreakers at this point in time. If this was a discussion about Overwatch that'd be different... (which if possible as far as the tech I could totally see getting brought over eventually, Rocket League coming made it pop in my head)

Creating a healthy environment for third parties =/= promoting and selling their games (which in fact, is something that Nintendo have done for large scale and profile third party games). They have already achieved the first by providing easy development and a large install base.

That this game is still not F2P... he could at least hope for a few thousand players then of whom some could get addicted and pay for some shit in the game.

Trying to get more attention for your game to mention a possible Switch version after an Xbox version which would also bomb won't help.

Quite often? Are you sure? And does the userbase answer back?

Last I checked Multiplats on Wii sales were pitifull for 3rd parties, and while vgc numbers aren't really there for PS1 and 2 eras, Nintendo had some 3rd party games and they didn't really set good reception and sales.

And the fault of the hardness to port to a lot weaker platform is on the 3rd party as well?

Which easy development and large install base are you talking about? Because nintendo done both really only for portables and there they have support.

It's funny how most Nintendo fans think 3rd party go out of their way to lose money by avoiding nintendo.

duduspace11 "Well, since we are estimating costs, Pokemon Red/Blue did cost Nintendo about $50m to make back in 1996"

Mr Puggsly: "Hehe, I said good profit. You said big profit. Frankly, not losing money is what I meant by good. Don't get hung up on semantics"

Azzanation: "PS5 wouldn't sold out at launch without scalpers."

After reading about the games' performance, I suppose it could happen... provided that Cliff ports it himself.

At this point, Lawbreakers is the kind of game a publisher forces Switch owners to buy in order to get a game they actually want.

Overwatch or even the free ripoff game, Paladins would be better fit.
