Have all 3rd parties come to PS1? Or to Xbox og? Does all 3rd party goes to Xbox 1? No, they all had to prove theirselves at some point. For your luck Nintendo track record on 3rd party support/sales have been bad for like 4 or more generations, since they left their dictatorship against 3rd parties... so yes, they will evaluate the risk and profit before commiting with Nintendo. Very basic actually. |
if we're being realistic Nintendo does actually step up to the plate and bat for good third party games quite often. Especially with the likes of Capcom, I know Nintendo has often handled the marketing end of things almost exclusively and is a big part of why that franchise got so much attention on their platform from users. After Nintendo posted that killer dev insider video on the Switch "Doom" port the other day, the game also skyrocketed up into the top 50 or so best seller video game list on Amazon.
Nintendo has proven themselves with third parties but in the end it requires a GOOD effort port and working with them. Bethesda is showing exactly how to do that. If you pull an EA and just sort of sloppily throw a game onto a Nintendo platform without caring (like Madden or CoD (Activisonbutstill) in the past) then there's no reason to expect something to do well. BOTH the platform holder and the third party dev need to put work in
anyway sort of a moot point though because no one really wants Lawbreakers at this point in time. If this was a discussion about Overwatch that'd be different... (which if possible as far as the tech I could totally see getting brought over eventually, Rocket League coming made it pop in my head)
