Forums - Website Topics - Has it ever been worse on Vgchartz before?

It has been worse. Brett has lost interest in this site a few years ago. He used to update charts quickly and on a regular schedule, he participated in the forums as well. Some years ago he tried to get new site off the ground (Gamewise) and then chart updates on VGC began to lag behind and it got increasingly worse. That was basically the lowest point for the site, but things improved when he allowed Machina and Trunks limited access to chart updates. Said limited access still requires that Brett does certain things (currently adjustments to old sales are necessary), but such requests take time until they are fulfilled because Brett only has a low interest in VGC left.

Supporters donate money to this website and receive a few perks in exchange. You can look up the information under the tabs Members/Supporter Program at the top of the page.

So Gamewise is the reason he hasn't done much on here? From what I've seen that site is a graveyard. Pretty much the same people edit all of the pages, and there is no community.

The horrible thing that happened to Brett a few years ago is that he became persuaded of the existence of legendary and terrible beings every gamer talks about, but none actually saw a real one: women.
Oh, before someone mentions moms, no that doesn't count, as gamers hatch form eggs.

Screw mums, they suck anyway. But what about sisters? Are you not allowed to be a gamer if you have a sister? ;O

They are granted exceptions only if their sisters have short legs, thick mustaches and would make even a pig squeal and gag in horror and disgust.

About 1 year ago the charts updates were more than 3 months behind. I was really worried about it and thought that we're not far away from the closing of this site...

When was that? Must of been before I was around.

Going by your join date, long before. Things changed in the Spring of 2010.

Damn that was a while ago.

I still think the blue Vgchartz is the best Vgchartz. This gamrconnect and Vgchartz 2.0 was always a downgrade to me. ioi made the website too bloated and such.

I do remember the charts used only be a week or 2 behind. Although if the new lag means they are more accurate that is probably better.

Even now they are still totally inacurrate. Even USA numbers being released after NPD leaks still not quite accurate.

Its only been slightly worse. I remember being 3 months behind at one point. Still, remember when people complained about the chartz being 2 weeks behind?

Those were the days... if a chart didn't come out on the day next to what it used to people would already start complaining.

Sochi is a beach resort.  It gets colder in the winter, but still averages above freezing.  They stockpiled snow for the olympic events, but conditions were still poor for some of the outdoor events.

hmm, nice to know dumb hosting decisions aren't exclusive to football then. Of all those freezing cold Russian cities that could have held the winter Olympics... they choose a beach resort?

It's not unusual for different cities in the same country competing for the Olympics. I remember that for germany too. But still strange that Sochi applied for winter olympics and stranger even it was chosen.
