Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Could a Switch port of Kid Icarus Uprising work?

I was just thinking that the Joycons could work prety well for the game and with the game being rare enough in stores. If Monster Hunter XX gets a port, 3DS games could follow and Kid Icarus seems like the best idea.

The Democratic Nintendo fan....is that a paradox? I'm fond of one of the more conservative companies in the industry, but I vote Liberally and view myself that way 90% of the time?

I thought the game makes extensive usage of touchscreen. That wouldn't work well on docked mode.

A handheld gamer only (for now).

The controls in that game were awful. I wanted to play and love it , but the controls just sucked .

Yeah, for targeting. But a remake could introduce a different control scheme. Also, even in undocked a straight port of the controls wouldn't work, because in the original game you looked at the upper display but moved the target reticle with the stylus on the lower display. Switch has undocked only one display, so this wouldn't work at all.

Interesting enough, I think the touchpad-controller of PS4 would work for this control-setup.

That all said: a straight up port would not work, it has to be a remake that at least works over the controls.

Agree.

You know it deserves the GOTY.

Make it a new game and we should be fine. I heard mixed reviews about the 3ds version.

If it does not have pointer controls for console mode as well as the touch controls for hand held mode, I do not want it. Dual analog and motion controls can burn in hell.

Yes without the god awful controls it would be great.

If I can play the game without having to use arthritis-inducing controls, that'd be amazing.

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

I've always wished for a WiiU version with IR pointer. I guess dual analog is good enough.
