The way you guys are talking about 20USD is like you are talking about 200USD. It's less than the price of daily avocado toast.

Not that I found the price to be much worth complaining over...but that's some expensive goddamn toast.

I looked into it and figured I'd just wait for the real DLC.

Still better than anything on PS4, but after the amazing DLC for games such as Splatoon and MK8 i had high hopes for this. Like Undead Nightmare kinds of high, since Zelda is an open world game. Instead what we got is more in line with what I'd expect from a lazy dev. The new dificulty should had been there from the begining, as well as the many improvements/additions so those don't count. What we get instead is a challenge dungeon, which is something Wind Waker had even on the original Gamecube release. Of course, the new trials are a huge improvement and I was a big fan of Eventide but game + dlc is 80 freaking bucks. Not worth it so far. The next DLC better deliver and make up for those extra $20.

That's how I feel about all DLC. I pay the $60.00 and that's it. You will get no more money from me.

I loved the game. But, I'm not spending money on this DLC. These are features that normally get added into games for free in the months after launch.

And, yeah, as others have mentioned, everyone knew this DLC was gonna be weak since the day it was announced. The next one sounds a little better. I'd buy it day one if I could get it as a standalone. As it is, I'll have to wait and see what people say.

Agreed, this should have been a free update.

I find it hard to make an argument that BotW should have included even more content than it did at launch.

I agree with this statement, while also objecting to charging for this DLC.

It's fine for it not to have this stuff at launch, but that doesn't mean it should be paid, either.

IDK.

I felt like I got more than enough content for $60. I'm okay paying for extra.

You shouldn't buy stuff that must be included in the base game, and I say this because both the Trial of the Sword and Master Mode are things that could've made BotW to be much, much better.

The Trial of the Sword was obviously meant to be part of the main game, but got cut out by orders from Nintendo's big bosses. However, they didn't take into account that if they blocked the content by a paywall it would feel kind of underwhelming for many players in the end, as the Trial recycles a lot of the elements presented throughout the adventure. Had the Trial been part of the main game, general perception of it would have been very different, because right now it's quite mixed. Almost the same thing applies to Master Mode.

It's not like Nintendo cares too much, anyway, since they got exactly what they wanted: new buzz surrounding the game. But the thing here is that we end up paying 20 dollars more.

Trial of the Sword probably could've been in the main game, but I cannot see Nintendo cutting it from initial release just because. They were probably in the early stages or just in brainstorming mode for DLC before announcing it prior to the game's release. I dont think they meant to cut it for DLC, but it also has been almost 5 years since the game was in development and people in many social media and forum outlets have already cried out their frustration with the lack of news and delays of this game.

And as for reception, I think the initial news on it was mixed, but once it came out, it was more positive from what I've read.
